Question: On the New Character Sorting
Chaco Nautzi
Whenever I go to log in on character I choose a sorting method for my various characters, but whenever I log-off, then log back on ( for whatever reason) the sorting has changed back to none. Does this happen to anyone else...or do I have to do something in the options to keep it that way?

It happens to everyone so far. Don't worry about it. It will (hopefully) be fixed soon.

I personaly think it was a waste of time to implement the character sorting. For more than a year i have had the characters in the same spots without any problems. I have them all memorized and wouldnt want to change it around.
But ontopic: It should hopefully be fixed. Or it will only be used when all of your characters cant fit on the screen so you have to sort em around to get the one you want. It still should save your sorting method though

I'm pretty sure that the characters were actually sorted alphabetically to begin with, so it wouldn't really change anything if you don't want it to.
What I think is rather lame is the fact that they were that way before and the only other option you really have is if you have PVP characters. I would think that if they were going to go through the trouble of implementing something like this, they would have went the next logical step and allowed you to rearrange them in an order that you determined yourself.
I was rather happy when I first saw the menu, but since I don't have any PVP characters, its completely useless to me.

Anyway instead of this silly sorting option, I'd much prefer to actually be able to move the characters to the spots I want.

I think they were sorted alphabetically on the original login screen, and the order they were in then was carried over to the new style screen. This means that if you have made new characters since the change, you can knock them out of order.
For me, my 1st account is in alphabetical order (only because a conveniently named PvP character was in the 3rd slot, which happened to be the correct place alphabetically for my Assassin
); my 2nd account is not, and also has randomly placed empty slots.

I dont think it doesnt matter much i think its kinda a waste cause i mean who cares even if u have alot of characters itll only take a couple of second to scroll around to find it.

Oh and my chars used to be in alphabetical order but now it's sort of not anymore for some reason...don't know why it changed.
skretth
My characters used to be sorted nicely.
then i let a friend come over and play gw for awhile and he decided to buy a crap load of slots for my 21st bday
i now have 18 slots and my chars are all over the place.
anet, please let us sort manually ("drag n drop"), sort by chapter, and allow the method of sorting to be saved.

Ya, this is getting really anoying. My characters seem to like to change where they are every week (they have been doing this ever since I bought more character slots, but they never did it before for some reason) and its getting confusing to memorize where they are. I would do teh sorting thing, but since its not permanent, I don't want to have to use it every single time I go on.
