Will Nightfall reveal the next chapter locale?
Morrandir Gurthring
It suddenly dawned on me when I read the name of the place Nightfall occurs in: Elonia. I remember back in Prophecies, doing the quest in pre-Searing when you help the foreign guy by talking with Miller Upton. He said he was from Cantha. In Factions, there's a craft material called Elonian Silk (Or cloth, can't remember which. Maybe fur.).
So, if this keeps going on, I'm thinking when NF is released, we might get the name of the next place in a little oft-overlooked thing. Doesn't help with the "How is it themed?" question, but we'll know what to call it .

this could be true.. although not super helpful to know, but none the less could be true
Solar_Takfar
Yea, it'll likely be mentioned there, yes. And it'll probably be something new, not yet presented in the game (both cantha and elona were referenced to in prophecies, but I can't think of any other "continent" cited so far).

Well, there's Orr, but wasn't that destroyed?
Sai of Winter
We could end up going way up North into Charr territory for chapter four. But I don't know how they are going to find a way to mention the Charr in Nightfall. If this happens.

Someone on another website suggested that Orr is underwater and has some semblance of a civilization, though it seems unlikely that this will be included.
It's my personal opinion that Chatper IV will take us into the far north of Tyria, as the Prophecies map suggests that the continent doesn't end at Ascalon and Kryta.

Elonian Leather Square... I have plaenty... you buy... yes?
This is very much true, and it will be exciting to find out how they will spur out the locale of the next chapter... I hope the name sounds cool to the ear.

There's always the North and West for a new location for the next chapter to take place.

Very good observation, and I agree with you completely. On the subject of possible locations for Chapter 4, I believe there can be only 3 possibilities at the moment. Firstly, north of Tyria (or northern Tyria, whichever works), second, Orr. Not Orr in Tyria though, that would not introduce a big enough area for Anet. Perhaps Orr has sunk to the bottom of the ocean, or has been re-created somewhere by the ancient Orrian mage who sealed its fate so long ago. Third and last, an arctic continent. Somewhere where a malicious force has blah blah we know this already, don't we?

I actually think the Elonian mirrors have nothing to do with Elonians. Other than that...they can make mirrors O.O
That quest was about the Ministry. They're too busy pretending to help people out to actually help them, this was just one example, handing mirrors out to the homeless. I bet the mirrors cost them more than food for these homeless Canthans would have.
I think a Charr related expansion would be great for one of the ones that doesn't contain new professions. Kind of a go back to Ascalon and head north of it to deal with the Charr. Maybe we find out that they were invading Ascalon because something had invaded them, so we must defeat the threat to the Charr to get the Charr to leave Ascalon.

Mmm yea, Orr had been mentioned, but, as posted above, it's been destroyed, so it doesn't really count. I also see the next chapter happening in a nordic kind of place. Or maybe mesoamerican...? I don't know, but they'll soon run out of big cultural references to make. How about chapter 7 or 8? a parallel plane of existance? a steampunk city (introducing: arquebuses. Whee!)?

i don't understand what line of logic you are using to infer the locations of these lost civilizations. the kingdom of Orr being north of tyria or in that little bay to the south-east of the map... or whatever.
does anyone know where Cantha is located relative to Tyria??
If nothing but speculation arises, then how is anyone to know where Elona or Orr will be?

It's not logic, it's lore. that "little bay" IS where orr was.
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Orr
Cantha lies south of Tyria.
Elona is probably southeast of Tyria, since their refugee camps, as well as some elonian ruins, are in the crystal desert.
On a sidenote, I always found it funny that the proud kingdoms of Ascalon and Orr were overrun by a band of lvl 10 charr, which could easily be crushed by Shing Jea apprentices (who will usually leave the island at lv 15-18), or by the white mantle from kryta, or the centaurs of maguuma. Heck, Prince Rurik, greatest hero of Ascalon was a lv10, while even the lowliest gangster of Kaineng is lv20... it's due to game mechanics, I know, but funny nonetheless.

That, and "so long ago" was about two years in the past (the charr reached orr AFTER the searing in ascalon took place).

Back on topic, yeah, I messed up the name of the craft material. Couldn't remember exactly what it was. I think it'll be north of Ascalon, myself. Considering both the new profs are very religious-like, it makes sense. You'd better hope there's something beyond death in a place chock-full of Charr.

Oh and gabrial heart, a map like that is PERFECT for merging the chapter maps! Maybe even for connecting them somehow with more quests if you have the chapters? So you can go from the desert in prophecies to nightfall, and then from someplace in nightfall to cantha (without using your map to tele)? Oh, and then it is white like you made it if you don't have those chapters! Wow, I just relized how there can be only one world map! I hope someone that works for GW sees this and gets some good ideas that we see implimented soon!

But I'd wager Ascalon was finally overcome by the Charr after Rurik left. The cutscenes made it feel like the king was just being stubborn and leading his people to death by not deciding to flee over the mountains.
Maybe we'll see a Guild Wars 2, when the renewed forces of Ascalon, out from the Krytan Settlement, cross the mountains back, and, with the support of the lionguard and the Elonians, try to retake Old Ascalon from the Charr, and finally strike at the heart of their mountainous homes.
It'd actually make a pretty nice RTS game

Places I wanted/wish to see on the map that haven't been added:
- The Mursaat Homeland:
It is located south of the Dark River Passage in the Maguuma jungle, by my estimates they control from the southern tip of the river all the way to southern shore of Tyria's coast, since they have boats on the Fire Island Chain.
- North of Kryta:
Has anyone ever read the lore about the Watchtower in northern Kyrta and the "ancient unkwnown threat" they were build to protect Kryta from? They _were_ built on the coast of Giant's Basin... so eh, Giants anyone? I'd like to fight them.
- Northern Charr territory:
I'd like to see the charr homeland, city of Drascir and other places as well. Unless the searing destroyed Charr land too, most of this area should look like pre-searing ascalon, which I beleive is one of the prettiest places in Tyria.
Orr and the Moutain chain between Ascalon and the Desert would be nice too :P

You have seen Drascir if you've done the Ruins of Surmia mission. Granted, there was very little to look at - three mages holding three obelisks and Prince Rurik knocking on the door - but did you really think the mouthpiece of the fabled Stormcaller of Rin would be stored anywhere else?
We've never actually seen the Charr "homeland" in Prophecies. All areas we've encountered them in used to be part of Ascalon at one point or another, as evidenced by the ruined buildings. Since the Charr-initiated Searing affected the areas on both sides of the Great Northern Wall equally, however, I would expect all of Ascalon to look the same now. Unless the Charr homeland in indeed outside the northern reaches of Ascalon, I would expect it to look much like the post-Searing Ascalon does.
The Mursaat are too alien for the jungle, so I am inclined to believe that their "homeland" is in the Fire Islands. They've been guarding the Door of Komalie to prevent their own destruction for so long they might as well have settled there, but I can see how they might have originated elsewhere. I would highly doubt that "elsewhere" is in Kryta or Maguuma, since the Mursaat were only introduced to "mainland" Tyria by Saul D'Alessio, probably in an effort to reach an additional Bloodstone and power the Door of Komalie through the link between the Bloodstones.
Which brings me to a different point. Lore mentions 5 Bloodstones that were scattered in order to ensure that no user's mastery of magic would be complete. How many are accounted for? There's one in Abaddon's Mouth/Hell's Precipice, one in Bloodstone Fen, and none in Cantha.
I smell a new chapter idea

We saw today from our Official Store, there was a expansion button.
Here's what I think.
For about the same price as a character slot, you can buy acess to certain areas of the game. This would allow them to expand the continents, reveal new missions, while not making a whole other big expansion to do it.
Here's an example of what I think will show up in the shop eventually:
Expansion: Eastern Tyria
Areas: Spineback Ridge, Kyer's Crossing, Norvir Plains, Polmik Cliff
Missions: Fort Kyer
Towns: Polmik Overhang, Traveler's Inn
Added Creatures: Charr Forester, Charr Rider, Charr Scout, Charr Desecrator, Ridge Behemoth, Kyer's Griffin, Polmik Imp, Norvir Wolf, Polmik Scale, Polmik Dryder.

Mr.Deflok
I reckon they should've made a zoom (further) out option on your map screen if you had Factions and Prophecies so you could see where the continents are placed relative to each other. Yeah I know they probably didn't do that out of interests of giving themselves more creative freedom but it still would've been nice.

Ah, what the heck. Its not like Anet itself hasnt thought of all manners of putting its hands on our money already. It's only up to them now to stick to the business model they sold us the game on. And I sure damn hope they do stick to it.
