Here is the Bunny Thumper
As to the DP 'nerf', when people realize about it and start trashing your pet, drop Irristable Blow and take Call of Protection. They will now be wasting more effort on pounding pounding down on your 80AL, 15DR pet.

If you're just running a hammer build for the fun of it, I find it's easier to just drop the pet. Something like 14 Expertise, 12 Hammer, 9 WS...
Irresistable Blow
Devastating Hammer
Crushing Blow
Lightning Reflexes
On Your Knees
Troll Unguent
Ressurection Signet
Last skill is whatever you prefer. Just whack away and keep Lightning Reflexes on at all times. Easy and semi-effective. Hehe.

Yeah, don't use the pet....go full expertise/hammer and some bm for TF
Sir Mad
Do pets get DP in places where you don't (competitive missions)? If they don't you may wanna keep it there...

Hammer ... this is the ranger forum? If you plan on hammering I'd suggest a Warrior primary, those with the better armor

Flurry?

Pets only get dp in PvP arenas, they are unaffected by this change in PvE.

![]() I must have missed the part that helps you keep up LR at all times? Flurry? I'd be careful on insulting people's builds without having much experience with any. He has knockdown skills and "On Your Knees!", that keaps LR up all of the time. Evilsod

It depends on how your opponents fight. At least it means that if you actually kill a pet in TA/RA it might actually have a use. All i bother killing a pet for is for adren (when thumper) and to blackout the opponenets skillbar for a bit... after which *comfort animal* ressurects with 200+ health. Although the trade off of DP for pets to absolutely nothing done to the shitty AI they have isn't fair. It'd be nice if pets actually gained some sort of will to attack something when there mater dies... as oppose to sitting on top of your ****ing corpse. Moment this hits PvE beastmasters are gonna become even worse, moment the crappy AI kicks in, pet dies, pet becomes useless.

Meh, now you'r doing it yourself, and on a personal level at that.
Now, relax, the post was intended rather lighthearted, but I'll try to keep it in mind. Dyon Adell

Dude, if you got nothing to say or you think you're too clever to help him, just don't say anything at all. People start a thread asking for help, and you diss him without helping.
Even if the rest did put him down(I didn't read every single reply), most of them at least bothered to give him links and the info he's searching for. Cyan The Archer

Update notes:
Updated Ranger pets to acquire Death Penalty when they die. This currently applies on PvP maps only. They should only get DP in PvP maps only. Sir Mad
Hmm but are the alliance battles maps PvP maps? I guess so as PvP chars can get there through the guild hall. You don't get DP there, so if pets do, that would be really unfair...

![]() I must have missed the part that helps you keep up LR at all times? Flurry? It appears I must elaborate on how it works. ^_^ Run up to enemy. Use Lightning Reflexes to increase attack speed and provide a defense. Hit enemy until devastating hammer is charged. Hit enemy with devastating hammer. Hit crushing blow and On Your Knees at the same time. Voila! Enemy now is writhing in pain on the floor, and your Lightning Reflexes are recharged, so you can do it all over again! No need for this beast mastery silliness. ^_^ Amy Awien
There was no need, allthough your description is amusing to read and valued for it. Riki underlined this "On Your Knees", which I had missed until then ... I then hit Lightning Reflexes and ran over to GWWiki to read about it and then I understood.

No need for this beast mastery silliness. ^_^ At which point your enemies monk casts Mend Condition/Ailment and target ally is now laughing at you for pointlessly applying Weakness on there caster. Unless you intend to bring Fierce/Heavy Blow, don't bring Devastating... end of story. The point of hammer bash is that its extremely low adren cost when you consider you gain some from Ferocious Strike. Tigers Fury, always ready to use. Hammer Bash, quite spammable, means you can use it for interrupting just as much as causing pain. Kit Engel
Hammer bash/heavy blow and such don't work for this because of the "lose all adrenaline" part. On Your Knees is an adrenaline skill, and must be used right after the knockdown, therefore, you cannot use a knockdown that drains all adrenaline. Devastating Hammer is the only unconditional knockdown that doesn't drain all adrenaline; therefore, Devastating Hammer is the skill of choice here. ^_^
