How much memory?

Just wondering how much memory Guild Wars takes up for everyone else out there.

Please say if you got factions+prophecies or just one or the other, and how much of each continent you have explored.

I just re-installed Guild Wars Prophecies and it currently takes up 610 MB.

Mine's well over 2 Gigs as well.

I'd actually like to see if anyone's tested to see how much RAM GuildWars uses while idle. I would image it's at least 300MB of RAM, and in the heat of action it's probably over 500MB.

Your predictions seem a little high. Guild Wars only requires a minimum of 256MB RAM to be run. Most ive ever seen it use is about 350MB and that was after a few hours playing.

On topic: Mine takes up 2,433,155,072 bytes (not including screenshots). Oh you want it in GB? ~2.26GB. I have both Factions and Prophecies, but that doesnt really make a difference. If you had only Prophecies you would still have many Factions files such as the weapons, character models, armors, skins etc as you would need to be able to view them if a Factions character travels to Prophecies.

Heh, I thought you were asking about RAM. Who cares about diskspace anymore?

Mine topped out at 377 megs so far tonight.

Shouldn't this be in the off-topic section? Oh well, I have nfi how much space GW is taking up on my computer {it would be alot though. And I mean alot.}, because 1) I couldn't care less, 2) Theres lots of free space, and 3) It's a 'family' computer and I don't take care of the technical stuff (I usually have to fix some of the crap though)

I think the question was misunderstood somewhere. Halc wants to know how much RAM GW uses, not how much hard drive space. I saw some one say 2gigs, and was like "No way! That cant be right"
This is mine(Prophecies only)

Rereading post, Im confused now, so I looked, and my GW folder is 3.3 GB, but Ive converted my screens to .jpg, to save space http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/4213/gwpicscp6.jpg

Seeing that Halc said 610MB at the start, and GW certainly doesn't eat that much of RAM, I'd assume he means hard drive usage.

You haven't been to some places, you haven't been around during some of the festivals etc.

Memory usage probably isn't very high, but vidcard slowing down as there's too much action for it to draw, causing drop in FPS. I doubt GW gets above 350MB with 'normal' settings.

Thats what threw me off. It said memory, so I thought he/she meant RAM, because hard drive space isnt memory.

Last time I checked, GW was using just over 2GB of drive space. I have both GW:P and GW:F.

As far as memory goes... I haven't checked it mid-game, because I'm too busy playing, but I've checked it before and after. Before I start the game, I usually shut down any unnecessary services and programs, so I start with a ~150MB baseline. After shutting down GW, it usually reports a peak memory usage of ~600-620MB. Glad I've got 768MB of RAM...hasn't ever had to page on me yet. So the max usage for GW on my computer is 450-470MB of memory. I think it hovers around ~350MB idling (200MB + 150MB baseline)...I'll have to check when I get home.
