Subject says it all. What would you like to see offered to Guild Wars players?

I would love to get more Login screens... different themes like the guild halls... Id pay for that!

What about some kind of in-game credit items ( a use for rubies etc ) that we could trade in for goodies like the old Absinthe or Candy Canes? That would give stuff to amuse us without actually spending real money but dont get me wrong, you guys can always have my money !

CULT FTW

edit: maybe even have something that is customized for each account = i.e. it shows your guild flag in the background somewhere- we like to represent, yo.

Choosing Music Tracks for the Title Screen from our selections in game would be nice too- I love the sorrows furnace battle theme, or 'rebirth' songs >wink<

Not paying money for Ingame Items...above all else. That idea has ruined alot of games :\

Character Slots - Fine.
Even Storage Space - Fine.

You get too much out of that...and you start ruining it. It turns into Maplestory..with that NXbucks.

If you aren't familiar with that, Maplestory is a free Side scrolling MMO, they make their money by offering to sell you (for real money) "NXbucks" that can be used in an ingame store to buy special Armor, Items, etc. It really split the game, and of course they got money hungry, so basically ANYTHING decent has to be boguht through NXbucks..

The ability to buy all kinds of promotional items and add them to our account (im sick of seeing all the Asian/Europeans with cool looking items and we get mediocre items with bad stats).

The ability to change all asthetic things about a single character (name, appearence, height, etc).

You caught me on a bad day, I usually have tons of ideas for this type of stuff.

simple really... but a place to trade in one of my accounts for 4 new character slots to use on my main account. :P (even for a price if you will)

I doubt ANet will disrupt their economy like that..

I second the 'no buying economically-disruptive items' suggestion!

I wonder if any kind of DirectSong stuff will be implemented? I realize its two different companies- but ANet in a way really paved the way for DSound... they should return the favor to ANet and allow DSound purchases through the GWStore.

Howabout a Hair Stylist- My hair would look better in grey than sandy-blonde.. i realized that about 11 months ago :P Although, maybe that should be more of an in-game or at-the-guild-hall type of merchant...

I agree with Former Ruling. Please don't start selling ingame items, it would ruin the whole game. However, selling character slots and storage space is fine.

- Log in screen
- Interface skins
- Directsong Musics
- Mini pets
- Storage space
- Character slot
- "Chapters"
- Auras (like the Divine Aura only availble for Prophacies CE)
- As well as other ways to decorate your character. (I find this to be very profiting, as proven by many other Korean online games)

What if the items were exactly the same to *common* items statwise but had different graphics and were customized? I wouldn't buy them, but the rich people would throw more money to Anet!

Selling anything is fine as long as it does not distory gameplay greatly.

Thanks for the insight. I don't know the game to which you refer, but I do have a thought: The games that I know that offer things like that have not made a commitment -- like we have made -- to assuring that all players are able to join and play in a balanced game. So if you buy the special items or armour, you have a character that is better, stronger, less likely to die, etc?

Guild Wars will not be undone by that sort of offer. We will not make an offer for something that, when one player owns it, puts another player at a disadvantage. No "Uber Armour," no "Super Special Mighty Weapon of Doom," or anything of that like.

That just seems a likely difference between the other stores and what we plan to offer. We will give you choice of things you might like to have, may choose to have, but will not need to have. Does that make sense to you?

Hmmm...Lets see...

The option to upgrade to collecters edition for like $25 or something. I never knew there even was a collectors edition when I bought prophecies, and when I bought factions, I still wasn't sure what exactly the collectors edition was. I would like both. (and about the things you would have to mail, then can't you just have us pay for the shipping or something, so you will still make profit off it and we get what we want?) I know I'm not the only player that wants this option.

The ability to get promotional things, like CHUIU said.

The abitlity to buy new login screens (sorrows furnace, and a jade sea one would be cool) and the ability to choose which one you display after you buy them. Maybe even buy the original login? I haven't seen it because I got GW right after the login screen was changed (by about a week acording to my freind that showed me GW), but I would pay just to see it again.

I know there is more but I can' think of it right now....

Dear Santa, uh I mean Gaile,

I would like to see in the store:

Storage - extra Xunlai tabs, bigger bags - anything really.

The ability to change hair/face. I used to play a game where you could buy 'tokens' to use ingame at hair/face change 'merchants'.

'Vanity' items that give you no ingame advantage, but look cool/fun whilst you're strutting around towns. Like the dragon masks/horns of Grenth. Or pets (but they would have to be customised or untrade-able)

More cape designs. Or even the ability to upload your own.

White Dye!

The ability to add special/collectors edition features to your account - Divine Aura, backing dancers etc.

More emotes.

And lastly... MERCHANDISE! My life will never be complete without a Charr plushie and a Prince Rurik t-shirt!

Auction House.

At this point, Id pay for that. Its been 'on the drawing board, with no timeline for completion' since Tyrian Beta.

Oh, and having skill sets changeable in town like weapon sets. And being able to change proffession in any outpost, through the Hero screen ideally.

Well there's something random I've been wanting for a while and I guess this might be a good place to put it: Special cape designs. We have the ability to change the frills at the bottom of our cape, but I thought it would be awesome to be able to switch on a full length hooded cape; sort of druid kind of look. Another special cape design might be a big loose football jersey style of cape.

I agree with Former Ruling about not buying in game buff items with real world cash, which is what they do with Silkroad Online (SRO), but I like the idea of the SRO "Item Mall" where they buy credits that pay for the items in the "Item Mall". In SRO's case it's called Silk. Once you've bought say, 100 Silk for $10, you can use it in the in-game item mall to buy various items, some costing around 10-20 credits, others priced somewhere around 30-40 credits, and so on. With, buying extra storage and extra char slots and such just charging the straight-forward prices like $5-10 is fine, but I think the credits system would work well with lesser in-game, purely visual items such as my cape idea, or other special clothing, or whatever other kinds of items people can think up that wouldn't upset the balance of the game.

It makes perfect sense. I think storage space is the best idea so far as far as something to be implimented in the Store. Things liek hair salons, though popular, are better suited to the guild hall or something (like someone alreayd said).

I would imagine that Anet could make a killing by charging like $3 for a row of storage slots.

I'd like to see Guildwars Prophesies Special/Collectors Edition keys available for sale online. I started playing around July 2005, well after all the CE-boxes were sold out. I'm prepared to pay $70 USD or whatever for such a key, and I'm certain there are other players out there who share my sentiments. I will be thankful if ANET actually makes these CE-keys available online.

not to flood this thread, but on the issue of mini-pets, I think they should keep the current system of birthday-only for them. Its bad enough people are selling them for 5-30 dollars on Ebay

- Id like to be able to use mini-pets, and show off my weapons, at my guild hall!

- Maybe a special town/district for trade= although, no one would use it that should...

- Jukebox available at login or guild hall, for any tracks we have.

- Ability to see WHERE our guildies are hiding... or to let us know that they are just Idle, not ignoring us. (15-minute idle time for show on Guild and Friend list)

- Show our guild flag in the Halls, even when we are not in battle.

gold!

no, jk w00t w00t!

are the collectors editions limited? meaning there's only a bundle they make of them? I thought they were... That was a selling point for me at least. even if my thinking of them was wrong. But the thought of buying some of the in game ce stuff makes the ce sound a lot less appealing to me, and will probably turn me away from buying it next time. Just an opinion!

Really though... anything that can be sold for in game gold shouldnt even be considerd ever.

Please don't sell anything that would disturb the ingame economy, like mini-pets and stuff.
