Any reason not to buy a 2nd hand game?

Are accounts linked to serial numbers? (eg I'd need to buy a new game to play properly) or can I just buy a 2nd hand version of the game?

You take a chanse that you buy an account thats stolen, and it's against the user agrement to sell your game, so might get banned if found out.

You can download the game for free at the Guildwars site. but you have to buy an account to play.

Its pretty risky and is a pretty common scam... People sell their accounts then contact Arena Net claiming their account was logged and that they've lost the details. All they have to do is produce proof that it was their account and in most casesthey will get the account back possibly leaving you empty handed and short in the pocket.

Much safer just to buy an account direct of Arena net

So in short... You will never own an account you buy of another player.

Buying from ANet will cost you the same as the store (some stores may infact be slightly cheaper). And yes, the game is tied to a single use key. once the key is used it's con't be reused.

If you want to buy a 2nd hand game, don't buy it on e-bay, it is more likely stolen. Buy it from someone you trust and change the email log in and password immedately. To be honest you are better off just buying it new. These forums are filled with people that bought 2nd hand and lost everything or were banned for assorted reasons.

You will save a lot nore money in the long run.

I say u should just buy it at a store like Wal-Mart or Target cause if u buy it there the wont scam you. But alot of people do scam u i always here of people gettin scammed. Just buy it a store were u can see the product unopened. Plus when you buy it from the store u get a nice little box and a giant manual with a button guide and 2 cd's.
