Mission/Bonus or Masters?
Hypernecrofear
What do you guys think the mission set up will be.. We know that the team who worked on Prophecies is making Nightfall, so there may be a good chance we could go back to Mission/Bonus since the team that worked on Factions is making the 4th installement... to be honest i dont really like trying to get Masters. Just want to see what everyones opinion on this is.
Numa Pompilius
Mission/Bonus. At least I hope so.
Tookis Elite
i want mission/bonus because i like having to find out what a secondary objective is and how to do it and taking my time and ENJOYING the mission instead of having to rush through as fast as i can cuz otherwise i get crap for rewards.
i hope mission/bonus but i dunno what itll be.
must wait till pve preview weekend for that one. (if they have a pve preview weekend)

I certainly hope for M+B. The time-race thing just sounds like a rushed job to add some incentive to replaying missions which would otherwise be run once and then forgotten.
Lowly Peasant
M+B would be nice. The only way I liked the masters was for missions like Gyala Hatchery and Eternal Grove.
Arkantos
M/B was better IMO.
unholy guardian
mission/bonus rocked, gave you something to do when you didn't have it done and you were level 20
Saborath Gilgalad
IMO I prefer the M+B. In chapt1 you in most cases could do both at the same time. But with the Masters reward you most likely had to repeat the mission once or more to get the reward. And I quite frankly found alot of the Faction missions kinda boring (Hachery, and eternal grove) and don't really like to do them over over again just to get the title. Thats one of the reason why my a protector of tyria and not cantha.

I did'nt really like the timed missions. But idea behind gyala and eternal was a good one. Maybe we will get a another new type ?
WhiteZombie
either, as long as they give the same rewards as the masters in factions.
WasAGuest
Mission/Bonus - was almost like having two different missions in one in most cases. The timed crud... bleh
Urban_Nomad
I like Mission/Bonus, but I really did enjoy the XP from Master's In Prophecies, the missions only gave you the amount of xp you'd get from two quick quests. Then again, the quests in Factions gave more xp too, so I can't really pass judgement based on that.

M/B I would like to see again... though...
the only thing I like about masters was indeed gayala hatchery...
I would like to see situational NON time dependant conditions to be met, like how gayala gave you more for the more turtles that were alive >.>
but if thats not possible... M/B ALL THE WAY BAY-BEE!

I think there is going to be a new thing, instead of mission and bonus or time, but if there is, I have no clue what it would be...
But if they do have either mission and bonus or time for nightfall, then I don't really care which they use. I liked them equally.

I like the multiple levels of bonuses based on increasingly difficult objectives. (normal/expert/masters.)
I'd like future missions to be based on a variety of different things though, not just time.
(eg. how many npcs survive, % of kills the party made, how many deaths the party have, how long the party survived for in a suicide-type mission etc etc)

Mission/Bonus FTW FTW FTW FTW FTWx893741
Chinson Windancer
mission/bonus one, seeking the secondary guest is much more intersting than trying to shorten the quest time many times
titan0987
I hope they go for something entirely different.
bigwig
i want a variety. timed missions, mission/bonus, the gyala/eternal style, and maybe something else?

Unless Nightfall brings back skill quests, we'll see more of Factions-style Master's Reward - or worse. Considering the ever-increasing number of skills I wouldn't be surprised to find four tiers of completion for each mission if the current mentality of "make them buy their skills, it's a gold sink" wins out at ANet.
That said, I am very much hoping for the return of Mission + Bonus, especially since Nightfall is supposed to come from the same development team that is responsible for Prophecies. Hopefully the skill quests will return as well.

Mission and bonus. I want to take my time doing the bonus of the mission and not rush through it. Even if I'm getting the Protector's title.

Bonuses was better. Gave each mission a sub-plot story line. Masters idea was a cheap way of Anet getting their rushed Factions PvE out in time.
Kattox1
The masters reward style was ok in my opinion if there was a variety to the way in which you had to achieve it. Timed was a bit rubbish but protection ones like Gyala and Eternal were ok. But if all the missions in chapter 3 were protection missions I'd kill myself.
linh
Mission/Bonus.
I don't want to rush through mission to get master reward. Sometimes people in group want to take a short break or short afk during a mission, or even chat with others. Rushing mission will ruin it.

hopefully something new that isnt related to time. <.<
if not, M/B
if not, M/B

Nice to see that virutally everyone is in agreement that the timed "masters" stuff in Factions was garbage. I still haven't really read all the NPC text in missions because of the forced rushing.
I would like to see a variety of bonus types but I really don't want to see too many that involve protecting suicidal NPCs.

I much preferred the style of normal/expert/master's reward over the mission and bonus, simply because time was the deciding factor for the reward on most missions. I like the fact that master's teams actually had to set to do damage...a foreign concept lost on the majority of PvE players who worship their "tanks" and ultra defensive, boring, slow grind style of play.
Felbryn
Whether people are using defensive builds or not, I think there's already far too much pressure to move quickly. I'd like to be able to wait for the opportune moment to engage enemies, and be able to discuss tactics with my allies, without being penalized for it.
The monsters in Factions already seem designed to deal harshly with defensive group builds; just take a look at Shiro: you can beat him in about one minute if you hit him hard enough, or your group can slowly waste away over 10 minutes before finally dying. All you really need to do to create incentive for offense is drop in a few more enemy monks.
The Standard/Expert/Masters looks to me like a way to include more mission rewards with less work per mission. Prophecies has 25 missions, and each has a bonus. Those take time to create. Factions has 13 missions and no bonuses.
I don't mind getting rated for my performance in the mission, if they would use more reasonable criteria (like number of deaths sustained, or ratio of damage dealt to damage taken, or some such, that has to do with how well you fight and not how many cinematics you skip or conversations you forego), and if it's not used as an excuse to provide less content.
