New interface makes it harder to interrupt?
TeeGee
First of all, sorry about making complaiment thread. Im not the guy that rant everytime that something changes in GW.
Introducing of PvP event brought us new interface - with better looks and neat things like having improved guild rooster, thats fine... but...
New skill progression bars are more shaded, glowing, shining and pulsating - it maybe looks better but it make a lot harder to interrupt. Simplicity has it advantages - it looked nice (at least noone complained about it) and its easier to track what's going on on screen if its not shining like disco lights. I've noticed that im often confused by different colours and lights and can't track enemy skill properly to choose which ones are worth interrupting.
Maybe it's only me, or maybe you felt the same? Myabe it would be wise to take advantage of this beta event (everything still could be changed) to write some petition for making thing less shiny and more clear.

I had to get used to the different skillbar colors and such, but I haven't really noticed much difference myself.

Hmm idea just came to my mind - would be nice if u could have a choice of what interface skin u like to use. Everybody would be happy that way...

The skill progression bar looks pretty.
I like it. If you look at it you can see how fast the casting is (I think). While the solid red bar is simple, the multi-colour bar, I think, shows how fast the casting is or how much time you have to interupt. I could be mistaken though.
But I think the graphics look sharper and more beautiful.

I think the problem isnt the colours confusing you, its that it isnt the old style, you just need some time to get used to it and you wont even remember the difference

It's also helpful for those last second interrupts (like I am prone to!) because you can see whether the spell was cast successful by the color that the warmup bar changes to. If its golden, then the spell was cast, but if it turns purple the spell was interrupted. I really like it, once everyone's used to it, I think it will be a powerful tool for us Ranger or Mesmer types.
TeeGee
Hmm perhaps u r right - its matter of getting used to it. Still it would be so nice if we could choose interface skin ourselves.

i think it has, im not a fan of the new interface because i dont like trying to adapt to the new interface :-/
Two April Mornings
i agree, i dont know if i interrupted ro if the spell ended for they are the same color and tone

In some cases, less equals more, and this is one of them. Perhaps they thought it was a fancy idea, to add all the flashy lights and skill colour changes, but they are very distracting. As for missing interrupts that you normally caught on a dime, attribute this to a combination of your hand-eye coordination, now distracted by the changes, and the skill activation delay+lag.
Ecklipze
I still prefer the old bars, where the skill activation consisted of a solid blue line over the black background, because that was a good clear way to see when to interupt. Now with the gaudy silvery flashing colours, it is difficult to see when to interupt.
My vote goes for a choice of interface, would be very helpful.

with the responses that people are giving in another thread, I don't think many people like the new interface... period.
The skill progression colours makes it harder for me to interrupt because the colours blend in with the backkground somewhat, so im half-eyed-opoen when I notice that the skill activates. If the bar had a clearer border and the progression line was more solid, regardless of the colours, it would help me interrupt better

It's a blue bar with a green fade-in tip, which flares golden and fades when cast, and dims to purple if cancelled or interrupted. I prefer it now

I hate this new activation bar... looks RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing stupid.

I don' like the new activation bars. Like others have already stated, it is unclear and blends with the background.
The majority of people I've spoken with that enjoy the changes don't play characters that interrupt skills, which I can understand. It's something new and flashy. But for those of us that rely on a clear and concise tool for interrupting, the bar has become less useful.
I don't mind the purple fade when the skill is interrupted, just the flashing changing colors as it casts. I find it distracting and it strains my already bad eyes. After a couple hours of attempting to get used to it, it still caused my eyes physical pain.

I have to agree with avarre. I like the new one. Seeing the progession is a great help and the change in color when you hit it is a useful guide.

i think if ure going to play guild wars the whole point is new things come out and u must adapt. if guild wars didnt evolve it wud suk. im sure that all u need is to change ure build if its so hard from interupt type spells to imobliziing spells
Pat_vaynard
It's nothing different. The skillbar lagged a bit before they rebuilt and fixed the minor errors, but I have not found interrupting any more difficult than before. The colored bar is simply for asthetic purpose and just makes a cleaner interface. I like the change.

On another note, being a monk and having to face with red bars all day, that Brambles spirit really bugs me when my henchmen step into it. Bright pink, anyone?

When the new UI interface came it was at first difficult for me to interupt key skills, e.g. guardians, wards etc. Because i usually read the name of the skill then i interupt. But the new colours was a distraction and the different font made it difficult to read at a glance. I got used to it now though, dont mind it much but would much prefer the previous one.
Francis Demeules
I found nothing changed for me, I can interrupt like the old interface but except using my ears to hear when my target is interrupted, it shows in purple now

i think its my perception, i see the graded colours and think the hardest colour in the middle is the actual lead (when its clearly not) so im missing things i'd never miss and it sucks. i'll get used to it i assume but POO!
that said its pretty but i'd prefer a block colour progress bar so my eyes dont lie to my brain.

I much prefer the new skill activation bar.
It seems, though, that the interface is heavier for some graph cards, so some find it difficult to interrupt. Or perhaps it was because of this special weekend and the servers' load. Or both. But truth is, that many of my friends say it's harder to interrupt now : i didn't notice any difficulty myself though, with an standard Migraine build in HoH...
It's just that the colors or the team window (while playing Mo) that I find a bit strange... but not to the point of being unbearable, though
