I've just bought and installed Gw. I've ran it and made a character and what not. Now its decompressing the files which is taking aaaages. This won't need to be done every time I run the game will it?

No, only when you play for the 1st time or when the game has been updated. The 1st time you play does take the longest after that it's fairly small.

The pvp week end has made it very slow. 1000's of files to be loaded and decompressed. My screen save turned on it took so long.
