My Ascension Seems... Broken..

Ok.. heres the deal.. i work on this monk all day and night.. i did everything normal and by the book , this is a tyrian character... i did all the main missions, complete the 3 desert missions, got my deset 15 att quest.. caped a couple skills, then i killed my doppleganger completed with bonus... so im feelling good cuz im finally over with most of it and im ready for fow armor.. now heres the catch.. the game apparently all i can think is that.. it thinks im not ascended... I went to vanyi.. she wont talk to me.. the profession changers in the desert towns arent lit up they wont talk to me, i went to the profession changer in the zaishan island and it says, proffession changes are for ascended players or you must be closer to the stars... i dont know whats up can someone pls help me?? ive completed my mirror like 5 times now and re opened gw tons of times...


and there is no quest at vanyi telling me to go visit towns.,. i know ive thought of that also... the only quest i have is welcome to cantha.. im stumped..

Do the Dragon's Lair mission.
Edit: If that doesn't do it, go do one of the secondary profession quests.

but you see if you read closely i said i did all of that, I Have complete dragons lair. i went to droks. The Profession Change People "Wont" Talk to me.. Ive Beaten my doppleganger 5 times in a row.



its acting like im not ascended trust me ive completed everything in the desert..


not an hour or so ago i was fighting glint... if i remember correctly you have to be ascended to get that far.. am i right?


but again i would appreciate feed back on this.. its a huge problem for me atleast.. i dont know if its affected other people i dont know what it is.. but ive put alot of hours into this char so far to just start over or something...

Try going to the FoW or UW. If you can get in there then you can confirm you're ascended.

Requirements: Prophecies Campaign character, right? You meet that requirement?

Just in case you didn't see my edit, you only get this quest if you are prophacies character. Admittedly, the first quest for secondary professions wouldn't be bad for her to offer, but they can't be giving you a 3rd 15point attrib quest.

He's a Tyrian character, we both started together. I'm getting through Elona, and we're going to see if it messes up for me as well.

this weekend is turning into a fiasco before its even begun.

wallace just ascended on his monk, he said the profession people wont talk to him, the profession changer on the zishen island say he has to be closer to the stars or ascended.. its acting the same way with his monk, he says he wants to try to beat dragons lair to be sure.. but im positive.. ive beat dragons lair and it still is the same. GG-


i dunno whats up i guess its a glitch, maybe we could get feed back from people ascending today O_O

Sounds really weird. Can he post some pics to the forums for us? Would be nice to see exatcly what kind of glitch he encountered.

Not to sound rude, but it's pretty much exactly as drug said, it acts as though we're not Ascended. We can't change secondary, and the Profession changer gives us this:

Not to sound suspicious, but in order for you to prove that you're at drok because you've ascended AND has completed the first 15-att quest, just open your hero screen and show us your total att points (without spending any point).

wow, give me a break dude why the hell would i lie about something this stupid.. seriously.. i have so many things id like to say to you now , but i want to keep this post flame free and keep it going incase others have this problem.. my friend told me he herd a couple people asking why they cant do secondary profession quest's , im asuming its only for new tyria chars...

i mean come on plz dont post requirements for ascension , im not 3 years old.. i know how to ascend in tyria.. im 100% positive ive done 100% of what required to ascend, because well.. IVE KILLED MY MIRROR... dont you think thats enough to ascend?? yes i think so.. i would go as far as posting a pic of my defeating him for the 11th time but no thx i dont feel like wasting the time.


i now have a second person telling me after he killed mirror he cannot do the droks atts quest and cannot talk to any secondary profession changers..


were both 100% done with the desert and should be ascended but were not.

Due to all the new code.. every pre-view event Anet had done has had .. hicups.. that do get fixed realtively quick.

I would contact support and let them know ASAP.

ive contacted support with a dectription of my problem, hopefully that will alert them to the situation and get them focused on it... this sucks for me because i was goign to buy fissure today.. now i cant cuz it wont register when i ascend...


wallace has also sent and email to support, i urge anyone else that has this problem to email them also.. the more emails on the issue the better..


im pretty sure people are starting to catch onto it i see people talking about it in local every now and then , example.. i saw someone saying "why cant i change my secondary profession"

ya this same basic thing is happening to a guildie of mine.
hes all acended and everything so we went to get him his spider. grenth takes his $$ and boots him back to ToA.
we thought that maybe cuz he was only lvl 18 it wouldnt let him in so off i went to powerlvl him
half hour later hes 20 and still cant get in
we try fow same thing

any ideas?

Actually, the attribute points quests are not needed for ascention - neither one.

Just to cover the base: have you done a profession changing quest in the desert and tried changing to that profession?

Kool, he can't do that because the people who give the quests won't talk to him.
