Rate my new system... (Ordering from somewhere different this time.)

I give it an 8 out of 10.
-2 for CoolMAX PSU.
CoolMAX is iffy for its PSU quality.

Very nice rig You should be able to play Oblivion on High / Very High settings with that and run FEAR very well too.
Please Note the Dual Core 2 Intel's just came out (still can't believe I saying this) and intel may have the best price and peformance ratio... Took them four years to finally de-thrown AMD so both AMD & Intel are taking huge price cuts on cpu's as we speak right now.

get 2gbs of ram will spare u ALOT of loading + when u are buying a motherboard that supports SLI then buy 2x XFX GeForce 7900 GT
+ u should be sure the Asus motherboard can run SATA 300 i think it can but i really can't remember..
now when thats said i wouldn't buy a 300gb harddrive to have ur OS, games etc on.
Buy a cheap 30gb or something to have ur system and games etc on and a larger harddrive to other stuff..
totally right now i would say 7/10

Nice looking setup. Not too familiar with the PSU though. I've been happy with the OCZ 600 PSU I got back in Jan.

As someone else suggested getting a Core 2 cpu would be better (and obviously a new MB as well) however they aren't widely available yet.

You should change PSU and maybe Motherboard, if you don't intend to use SLI (go for A8N-E)

yeah, but as I said you can't actually get them that easy and it will most likely be like that for a while - even Dell can't meet the demand.

ew ew ew ew ew NVIDIA! They're the devil man! Firstly Thier SLI system is rubbish in comparsion to ATI's Crossfire and NVIDIA are known for crap drivers. ATI all the way.

X of T, Thats a meaty sounding rig fella, its almost identical to mine, for choice of PSU, i'd go Tagan, memory Kensington. Also, watercooling if you can You have a sound motherboard one of the best IMO.
As for nVidia, they have been lacking in producing good drivers of late, and have no problems with them - yet
8/10.

The Core2 Duo's seem to be the better buy at the moment, though availability is going to be bad given that it was just released:
http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/07/28/si...g_intel_curve/
If you can wait it out to get a Core2 Duo, then please do, since you will probably have more intel CPU upgrade options down the road.
As for NVidia vs. ATI: I have also heard that the more recent NVidia drivers have been flakey. However, I have not had any problems with my 7900GTX-512.
The NVidia 7900-line and ATI X1800 - X1900 should all be fine choices... can't really lose either way.
