Similar Threads

I have noticed the similar threads thing at the bottom of the off-topic thread part deux. What I am having trouble with is that other threads don't have this. So I want to congradulate you guys on a good idea, but how does it work? Do you just do it yourself or is there some sort of way where the similar threads are selected?

It's automatic. I think it does a general search for the title name and takes the first few matches. kzap implemented this at some point in time; threads made after that date have it while older threads don't.

I believe Inde also recently turned the feature off (hence why it's not at the bottom of this topic) to save bandwidth, as some of the topics found in the related links were archaic and promoted thread necromancy.
