I just finished fighting dervish using the following skills:
Mirage Cloak
Signet of Piety
Reversal of Fortune
Restore Condition
Pious Renewal
Protective Spirit
??? (assumed faithful intervention)
??? (assumed res sig)
The attribute spread was probably something like 16 or 14 mysticism, 11 protection and 10 earth prayers
In any case, only one out of every ten attacks hit them, and even then dmg was negligible and was easily swept away with a single cast. 3 people ganging up on them for 10 minutes couldn't kill them as they kept themselves and everyone else on their team alive with their seemingly limitless supply of energy (I'm guessing that high mysticism has something to do with this). Ultimately they outlasted even our own effective boon prot who wasn't even dealing with any KD or hex pressure. Does anyone know what the final two skills might have been, and more importantly, how does one fight against this?
A healing dervish more efficient that a monk?

Mysticism gives the Dervish health and energy whenever an enchantment ends. I believe it's from anything in the area, but it might be just the Derv.
There's 2 things I can think of right off to keep Mysticism from making it unkillable. 1, don't remove enchantments, and 2, keep the enchants from getting on in the first place.
As for the other 2 skills, I have no idea.

The truth itself
Even if they are, monks haven't had competition for a long time, this is good news
Don't tell me Ritualists, Ritualists are a joke for anything besides spirit spamming.

D/Mo are the monk class for people who hate hardcore monking.

When Nightfall comes out, and/if I play a dervish, and somebody calls me "healxx0rz" or tells me to "heel!11 pl0x" I will go psycho on them with my scythe..Just saying

The Dervish and Paragon are still in Beta, so expect major changes before release or the next event. Chances are D/Mos will not continue to be able to "monk" to the degree they currently can.

A lot of people are put off of monking, which is pretty vital to the game (and most online games like this) because you don't get to be "glorious" and charge into battle and "own" someone. You just do your part. And you're either praised for keeping it together, or totally booed for your failure. Monks have it hard in this game, both in-game and how they're treated attitude wise.
To top it off, the Monk can't really be played as a non-Monk. We've all had our smiter days, where we thought we were durable. But we just get our enchantments rended right off and lay down, with 0/0 above our head. Smitin is the worst attribute line for the monk as well unfortunately. There's no contest for balance in that. Divine Favor, Protection and Healing simply have it all. Then there's a few nice skills in smite, but most of it is just not worth using except for fun "themes" in PvE.
The Dervish may give the people who aren't into just monking, a chance to feel like they're doing something "hardcore." Energy heal batteries with better armor and more life. Better weapon options. Lots of things they can do, while filling the role of a healer. They certainly do NOT replace a good monk, but they do give us an alternative healer that doesn't use monk heals. And that's the critical difference.

The problem with Dervishes is that they are, on a personal level, inherently very resilient. They have energy management that can't be taken away in the form of their primary attribute, and enchantment removal on them is often a boon, rather than a burden.
Most of their enchantments have very short recharges, low casting times, and a cost of 5-10, and the 5 costs will actually cause a net gain of 2-3 energy. But even the net losses from 10's work akin to a non-elite Mantra of Recall, helping you to store up health and energy to regain in a pinch with enchantment loss skills.
Signet of Piety is just awesome, with a heal that scales up to 142, though they normally won't hit 16 in Earth Prayers, and an instant recharge, with a penalty that actually helps you regain health and energy.
It's just insane x_X

No...Dervish cannot replace monk in anyway. Dervish is only good with healing itself, but not others.
