Just some thoughts on the looks of dervish and paragon.

The first new class I chose to try was the paragon, and I immediately saw something I dont like...
Is it just me, or the male paragon model is based on the ritualist model?
In fact, I believe it's the exact copy of it. If that's the case, that's very lame.

I understand that making EVERYTHING new is a lot of work, and the designers dont feel like doing that. But diversity is good in this case, and I wish that the paragon did not have ANYTHING in common with the ritualist.

Another thing I dont like, is that the dervish look is almost the exact copy of a female ritualist. I honestly hope that this look will not be the final look that we'll see in Nightfall. There's so many choices, so many different ideas for an outfit!!

Why not do a contest on the guildwars site, where people would submit their pictures with ideas for different armors/outfits??
I think that's a great idea!

If I understand correctly, Nightfall is an Egyptian inspired game, and it that is the case, there are so many interesting ideas that can be used instead of sticking with recycling the old stuff.

Come to think of it, I already have an idea for the pre order event mask...
The mask of that Egyptian Jackal God. Anubis? (if i remember correctly)
That would be very cool imo. (I'm also thinking Stargate for some reason..)

Anyway, I understand that this is a very early beta, and it's too early to say anything. Just felt like discussing some ideas.

The Paragon looks rather fetching while jogging into battle with his spear overhead and shiny, glittering armor glistening under the mid-day sun.

I like the looks of the Paragon, but his sitting action needs to be changed. Not everyone wants to see Paragon underwear. You can see his man bits! There, I said it. lol

i like the paragons armor, the right mix of the anti-light and anti-fire looks wicked!

theres something about the way he holds that spear that makes me flash back to all the homophobic insults I ever recieved at school, and I think "I'm sure thats how I threw Javeline"....

Your flash back reminds me of my aunt who once told me I carried firewood like a girl. I believe my answer was "You seem to be doing all right carrying firewood this way."

Of all the things the Paragon reminds me of, however, it does not remind me of 'girlie'. It reminds me of Looney Tunes characters - if Elmer Fudd owned a spear, this is how he would look chasing after that rascley rabbit.

To me it looks as if nightfall will be Greek/Roman/African/Arabian style rather then Egyptian.

Anti Fire gloves boots, Anti Air shirt pants. Gotta love that combo, I really like their Greek hero look. Kinda Carthaginian,
