i know this is sort of an old topic

anet have said they cant merge accounts but now they offer character slots its not due to sever load but if they cant merge accounts because of the way they set up i was thinking would it be possible in the future to say move the characters from one account to the other

Accounts cant merge not because of anything like Server Load...

Accounts cant merge because it would cause way too many problems..The Number of Character Slots (which intels deleting characters)...Account Age...among other things like unlocks.

imagine you merge 2 accounts, each with maxed gold and inventory, which one gets smited with the poof stick?

Merging accounts is a problem, but how about moving one character from account A to account B? That should not be that hard should it?

Except for unlocks, do they cross, don't they, etc etc etc. Merging is not something I forsee happening, there are just too many variables that would have to be dealt with and no matter what solution they come up with, atleast someone will have a problem with it and cry foul. Hell, they add the ability to buy slots and people are complaining about that, even though it was because of overwhelming player request that they did it.

also Alex Weekes stated specifically that the delay was problems getting it right.

that was with a new empty unassigned to another account slot.

i also saw somewhere that merging accounts/characters was not going to be an option.

I think most people would be happy to just get their characters slots with existing characters transferred to another account.

Well, it looks my another account will be a mule account. Too expensive to buy all chapters twice.
