1)What video card are you using? If you are using an Nvidia 5000-5900, it's probably due to your video card, you should update the drivers. Also, if you have Nvidia drivers I'll post sites with information on what to do.
2)Try lowering your video settings, make them as low as possible. If the problem continues, it's probably your video card.
3)If none of the above helps you solve your problem, you may want to either wait for some one else to suggest something or reinstall Guild Wars.
That's all I can think of right now, good luck.
(btw if you don't know your video card, go to www.srtest.com and select Guild Wars as your game to test for.)

I have a Geforce fx5200 I've already reinastalled it it still does it. Could you help me to install a new driver?
Horseman Of War
geforce 5200fx was my old card. Its not going to stop doing that... sorry to say...
are you PCI or AGP? Might be dumb question... need to be sure tho.
Seriously 5200fx is an inferior card... And im not saying this to be a jerk, Im speaking from experience. ALL fx series kinda suck, actually.
You can get a good card for about 100 bucks on newegg right now... look for
ATI x1600pro - This is what ive replaced my old 52fx with, and it was well worth it in my eyes. I paid like $135 + shipping a few months ago... so like i said it could probably be found fr around 100 now.
you want to pay attention to the Rendering Pipelines... the Core/Mem speeds... and the BitBus size (x1600pro is 128 bus, which is good for GW) I would recommend finding a bus size 128 or better and make sure it has the new style shaders (fx has one step below the current 'good' shaders... meaning it will play the game, but not how its supposed to be)
No answer on the shiny one second/gone the next... used to happen to me too... Got sick of that card pretty quick
Nvidia has made some good progress on their drivers, however to be sure you are Cleaning the old drivers out first right? Otherwise thatll mess you up... you gotta wipe the old ones before you go new... a reason I dont really update my drivers every single time another one comes out anymore...

There is not reason to believe it's the card. It's not the greatest card, but it shouldn't corrupt like that. It is completely compatible with GW.
Old driver maybe? Try getting the latest off of nvidia.com. Be sure to uninstall the old one and restart before installing the new one.

Take your graphics card out and go over it with a can of compressed air and an 1/2" sable hair paintbrush. Make sure you get all the dust of every little place.
While you're at it, give your motherboard, CPU, memory and all your fans and heatsinks the same treatment. Obvisously I don't mean you to remove
everything from the board, just get in as far as you can and give it a good clean.
You'd be surprised at how much dust builds up. Especially in places you wouldn't normally see without opening the case and looking.

Remember to Earth yourself too when messing around inside the case.
