I think you mean overstatement...
Anyway, being a Warrior/Assassin isn't a bad thing. There are plenty of nifty tricks you can do as a W/A though admittedly most of the coolest ones are for more experienced Warriors. The Warrior/Monk combination is highly overrated, though it does have survivability and quite a bit of utility.
Henchmen are great, and part of your problem may be that you haven't yet learned to "control" them in larger, more intense battle situations. Try looking at the groups ahead of time, before engaging, and pick out the greatest threats or weakest links. Call the target and make sure the henchman have responded to your call before rushing in to battle. At level 16, you're going to have some issues, but keep working on it and you'll find that you can pretty much let the henchmen do all the work for you.
I'd reccomend you devote some attribute points to Tactics, rather than Strength. With higher Tactics, you have better defense (with shouts such as "Watch Yourself!") and also greater self-heal capabilities (Healing Signet being your main self-heal).
