i got now 20 lvl tiger i`m thinking take black moa or spider in UW ideas??
Pick Me
I would take the spider.
I hear that the Black Moa makes strange sounds. I don't remember hearing a peep from the spider.
It really is based on your preference. Do you want a spider, bird, or to keep your loyal tiger?

The Black Moas make the same sounds as regular Moas, but if you don't use sound, then I guess this is of no consequence. If you are however under the assumption that the spider is faster in either movement or attack speed, I believe you are mistaken. All pets are equal in both traveling speed and attack speed except the bear that attacks slower than all other types of pets. If you want more info on pets, I would refer you to an excellent guide from these forums by Jenosavel and Epinephrine:

Well...I would have said the rabbit from the ranger quest in the beginning of Shing Jea, but when I tried it the other day it wouldn't let me. I still think you should be able to have it be a pet- it is an animal after all, and nothing is more awesome than a Dire Rabbit owning someone... I can only imagine the look on the other players face...
Underworld Calling
a rabbit would be too cool

We really need a way to stable pets so we can have more then one. My pet Pickles, a Melandru's Stalker has been with me since Pre and I won't give him up. He's been with me through thick and thin as both of us progressed through Tyria. Just wouldn't be right letting him go after this long.
I'd like to have a spider but I won't give up my loyal companion to do so. Yah, it's just pixels, but Pickles deserves better

I'd say get a Dune Lizard or a Spider - they both do piercing damage whereas all other types of pets do slashing damage.
Could someone just confirm this in case im giving incorrect info please

dire black widow ftw
dire means that it has -60 health but +2 attack
perfect for bp rangers (barrage pet)
just make sure you have comfort animal
or else fluffy stays dead

ye but say 1 how can get playful elder or hearty and i want get factions pet no tyria

Playfull is an intermediate evolution, usually a Playfull pet becomes Hearty, Aggressive is the intermediate to evolving towards dire. A pet evolves to Agressive and then Dire when it does loads of damage and takes little hurt, or Playfull and then Hearty when it takes damage but deals little.
Elder is difficult to achieve, as you have to switch from an agressive to a playfull/heary training style, or from playfull to agressive/dire.
There is a guide on this site that details all this.

In the vast majority of cases Dire is going to be your best bet. If you need your pet to die faster (those who just use its corpse), then the lower HP is nice. If you want to focus on your pet and pet skills, then the Dire is also nice because it deals the most damage. The problem with Hearty is that the extra health really doesn't help the pet stay alive any longer if you're focusing on your pet. In those cases, what's important is what skills you take and how you use them rather that which evolution your pet is.
Elder is the middle of the road pet, and as such it gets relegated to completely useless in my mind. If you need something, you usually want to go all out, and the luke-warm state of the Elder just doesn't cut it.

to jenosavel: with pet's getting dp now, I think it's far better to go the hearty route. Nothing worse than having your pets get wand spiked when they hit 60 dp.

Hearty Bear! Go for a hearty bear. It's what I use and it owns. He attacks slower than the other pets, bodyblocks you like it's his job, and tends to ruin pretty much every screenshot you ever want to take. I can't get enough of it.
