I'm suggesting that instead of throwing up a random error 165, the game should use the same mechanic as the Guild Wars: Factions preview event: you can log in to previously made pvp characters, they're simply locked out from real use.
I can't see any harm to it, and many players including myself had items or at least medallions sitting on those characters at 3am EST when we were immediately tossed out of the game due to error 165.

So please, no dolts butting in and posting about Nightfall pvp character balance, that's irrelevant. Mods please do your job and delete flames, instead of locking a real thread.The current mechanic is just less attractive in general than before, but the code is already there to use.

But I think ANet do have a valid reason. For one, there are still lots of changes to be made, as well as improvements and enhancements. Those must be kept a secret, lest they want to be smashed in the records because their competitors are well prepared
