Serious Problem

I have a pretty big problem.

Lately when I'll be playing, out of no where my screen will freeze, and there is no way I can get it to un-freeze. However, I'm still connected to the game, and I can hear everything going on, but my screen remains frozen on whatever image was displayed when it first froze. I can still interact with the game which is the weird part. If I press shift + 3 I can still talk to my team (although I can't read anything they say, but my text still goes through) and I belive I can actually still move around normally, but my screen still remains frozen on that same image.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this? Simply minamizing and restoring the game makes the image go away and instead it just shows the desktop. Eventually if I leave the game up like this my monitor will go black, however I still hear events in the game, but at this point it seems I can't get any image at all. Even using Alt + f4 to close the game doesn't restore the image and I have to shut down the computer to get anything to display on my monitor.

I have an LCD screen, so I don't think the monitor it's self is the problem. ANY IDEAS AT ALL?

What graphics card do you have?
Have you tried updating the drivers?
Have you tried lowing settings?
What video settings do you use with the card?
Do you have other apps running in the back ground?

Ok. My guess is that one of your cables connecting to your screen is somewhat disrupted.
If the images freeze like you said; go take your screen to your manufacturer and ask them to check it out OR also check your video card (make sure everything is working fine)

Ive just had very similar problems. Dont know where you live, but I`m in UK and it was due to recent very hot weather that caused my lockups. Way too high ambient temps. I removed case side panel and had a desk fan blowing in there.

Try looking at this(click "technical support" if is not already at that section): http://www.guildwars.com/support/faq...lt.php#support

They say something about the Nvidia Geforce 5500 series having technical problems with GuildWars, it's not the same error as the one you describe but it may help you solve your problem. I would suggest reporting your problem to NCsoft technical support. I'll try to find other support pages for this problem, I'll edit them into this post if I find any. Otherwise good luck, hopefully some one else can give you better answers.

also check this out(sorry for long URLs but without HTML idk how to make them smaller):

some of these have little to do with your problem, but I didn't find any problems directly related to yours, so I figured I'd show you anything close. If I find something more useful I'll post it here. Make sure you meet minimum requirements for the game, btw. If you aren't sure whether you meet the requirements, go to http://www.srtest.com and find guild wars on the list. good luck :\

I was using the Quatro drivers that had the correct / newer drivers for my old 5700Ultra - I would try these drivers if the 9x drivers are locking up.
