I know we all have had at least one time where we got a bad weapon with a perfect, valuable mod. You think, "I'll just salvage it and sell the mod." You click on your expert salvage kit, then on the weapon, only to be greeted with a pile of wood planks, steel ingots, or glittering dust. I think there should be a better kind of salvage kit called perfect salvage kits that allow you to choose whether you want a mod or materials from your item, and which mod you want if there's more than one. This kit would have to be way more expensive than the existing ones, but it would be worth it just to eliminate the chances of getting wood instead of that 20% enchant wrapping or +30 health weapon mod.

i disagree for the following reason.

before the reason i will state that before runes were a guaranteed salvage the first (and only in 1000+ hours) superior vigor rune i tried to salvage turned into a truly big pile of materials.

the reason is it would be removing the random factor that evens up the field a bit.

your way the rich person could make up several times the cost of the kit (whatever price) by using it on a super choice mod.

the average person wouldnt be able to do more than window shop.

so i disagree on this

LOL the market is high because ppl doesn't farm enough ... When I want something I take the time to get it and that's all ... It make me money and materials and I get what I want ... silly thing has buying stuff from other character ... You are not even sure if the stuff hasn't been copied by a prog from some hackers. so the guy may be doing 100% profit on it.

1. People dont farm enough, tell that to 55 hp monks, and the few thousand people that observe the farming forum. Oh and the green farmers, and the underworld/fow farmers. Almost every player in the game that has finished the game has farmed, and im pretty sure your dwarfed by their farming hours.

2.When i want somthing i take the time to get it and that's all, So when you feel like its time for a req 7 15^50 Crystalline you pop outside droks with a key or 2, or 8,000. And for your req 7 15^50 fell blade you pop outside droks again to kill one or 2 trolls, or 8 thousand. I doubt you take the time to farm them.

3. It is not possible to hack into guild wars as it is a server program. It is possible to temporarly "duplicate" and i use this term extreamly losely. But it will take you about half an hour to do and will only show up on your computer so its completely worthless other than fake screenshots. There is no way to hack or "copy" an item what so ever. Even by some godly miracle you did you would be tracked within the hour and banned.

You'll have to watch Guitary, when he sees that you have registered onto this website very recently, well, he'll just bite your head off if you dip your head too far into the water^^.

Anyway, I have developed a new emote called /twitch, it happens whenever I salvage a +30 HP sword and get wood instead... it's the only mod that I can never seem to salvage, and i've come across two of them so far...

But to the OP, sorry dude, random factor plays a fair role in the market system, it keeps the rich from being too rich, and gives the poor something to cry over when they get unlucky :P.

/notsigned (Im poor btw...)

I don't see how the randomness of the current mod salvage system evens the field at all... I've found several crappy weapons with awesome mods lately, and they all have either given me the cheaper of the 2 mods, or a small pile of common crafting materials. I can only think of 1 or 2 expensive mods I've ever been able to salvage successfully. Then again, I don't have the time/money/interest to farm.

I'm not so sure about that -- isn't that the way it is currently? The rich have the money to go through the expert salvage kits/keys to get good mods, while the average person has to hope that by chance the once-in-a-while good drop they find salvages into something more than 10 iron ignots.

I think you should, at the very least, be able to pick which mod (in the case of there being 2) you want a "chance" at salvaging using a so-called "expert" salvage kit... either that, or you should be guaranteed of getting one of the mods (again, in the case of there being 2).

Decent idea, but instead, I'd prefer a salvage kit that allowed you a small chance of getting Tier III materials, Deld. Steel and the like...
