If you're keeping this for yourself, then mod all you want. If you're thinking about adding components for sale, then don't. You most likely won't make your money back with your sale.
If you *really* do want to sell as a +30 sword, then offer the mod along side the sword. That way you can post it as a +30 sword, the component will retain it's value entirely and will add some allure to your item.
