Is there a way to transfer items and gold from one character to the next? I'm just curious.

Yes. Talk to a Xunlai [Storage Agent] in one of the cities.
Deposit your gold, log onto your other character, talk to the agent, and withdrawl said gold.

That helps a lot! I was wondering what the advantage of depositing gold was, since you don't lose any gold when you die. I just thought it was for the character personally.

All you need to do is purchase storage from the Xunlai Agents, located in any town after you leave Pre-Searing in Prof or the Starter Island in Factions. It will only cost you 50g. Then all your characters will be able to access the storage. You can put all item types, gold and plat in your storage.

i deposite gold to make sure i dont spend it if i have it on the character i know i will probably spend it so i deposite it and keep around 2 platnium on each character.
