Possibly introduce some new skills? A new spirit, for example: "create a lvl 1...8 spirit. all aoe spells and attacks within this spirit's range target a maximum of 3...1 foes and cost double energy."

awesomesauce that's really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Not even a powerful counter and that would be 1 skill, in a form of spirit, easily killed

Not everyone plays dervish for the scythes alone. I play dervish mainly for the spell PBAoEs because that is what my favourite playstyle was in a previous game. This is just a matter of preference.

Right now, the main concern is D/"MO"s with "CoP". Nerfing the whole class due to a single great synergy with one of the secondary profession skill is not what I want.

they designed the dervish.. they can always design their own counters without nerfing it all too much. We still don't know what the classes are getting, espcially mesmers, so before a total nerf bombing maybe just make the skills to counter them, and have a smallish nerf? IT's a powerful class, but yeah who knows what if some class got something weird like "pwn the dervish lol" Never know

I was in a team that was literally farming HA on saturday, flawlessing dervish teams left and right...

I won't tell you the skills just the composition of the build:

3 Mo/Mes, a R/W, a Me/E, a W/E, a N/Mo, and an E/Mo

i dont know the build but is CoP aka contemption of pureity you lose all enchants and are healed x for each one removed as well as one codition and hex.

The build bacially used the dervish enchants that have a devasting effect when you use them and when they end. Normally they take a bit more to remove them maximum of like 30 seconds i think unless you add other skills. Depending on what you do normally you don't lose all of them at the same time. When you use CoP you lose them all and the effects when they end activate causeing everyone to die pretty much.

If I remember correctly, there are derv skills that remove all enchantments. You won't get hex/condition removal, but you still get your heal/energy management with them.

The problem is 100+ armor ignoring large area of effect spells that basically cost the dervish nothing, heals the dervish, and usually has a secondary effect such as AoE cripple or burning, the only reliable counter to these skills being diversion.

Blackout is another counter to Dervishes as they can't CoP or cast enchantments, only kite or attack.
Some counters arent perfect, like diversion and only work to slow them down.

To add to this, k/d skills like gale helped alot. Muddy terrain to allow for pre-kiting tactics and slow down the pace of their inital aoe onslaught and give time to spike from a distance. Nature's renewal made their attacks slower and interuptable.

Unfortunatly, things like union and shelter tended to go down rather rapidly similar to displacement with many melee attackers. Spirit attackers were ok, while allowing for "sacrificial" targets that would have to be addressed. Dissonance could also get lucky and stop some damage here and there. Disenchantment was rather neutral though, healing them for more damage than they inflicted, but forcing the energy recovery to be more spread out and prevented the d/mo "spike" healing.

Things that were a total waste of time were hex based builds, E-denial characters, degen based builds, condition based builds, and overly warrior centric builds.

Quickening Zephyr and Nature's Renewal. They dont have enough energy to cast them all before removing them and kite them, they are PBAoE, dont close up on them. And cripple them. interupt the avatar.

My Dervish farming necro did pretty well with both desecrate and defile enchantments on the skill bar. Lots of damage when dervs are bunched up together casting their PBAOE enchants. SS was working well too until people began bringing CoP or the Dwanya avatar.

Listen this is all A'Net has to do.

CoP is in the Divine Favor Category correct? Make it like one of thsoe skills where it is 50% failure with Divine Favor 4 or less. (Something along the lines of that)

Wa-la, problem solved

(Of course they will still need to tone the other skills down a bit but let's start with basics)
