Repairing data archive means that some bytes in the file have changed without proper processing. Usually this happens when computer's memory module(s) or hard drive don't work 100% or some unknown program changes it. It might also happen when Guild Wars is writing something to the file and suddenly your computer shutdowns.
In my case, the reason was faulty memory module and replacing it fixed the problem completely.

Having lost everything due to a physical harddisk crash, I'll say this: be afraid, be very afraid, when files start getting corrupted. It's not normal, and it is, like Zakarr says, a sign that some component in your computer is malfunctioning, and eventually it WILL corrupt data you'd rather it hadn't. Or, like in my case, completely, utterly, and irreversibly destroy all the data on the disk.
Apart from physical defects of memory or disk components, one common cause for corruptions is overclocking. If you're overclocking, corrupted files is a sign telling you to slow down a bit.
