hey all, i recently started playing guild wars again and made a new roleplaying char. He's a lvl 8 w/r right now and i was wondering when was a good time to go post. I remember my first character went post around level 4 or 5 and it was a big mistake. Any opinions will be appreciated.

IMO it depends on how interesting you find pre-sear. I would think since you found 4-5 to be a mistake then level 8-10 would be fine. I usually stay until level 10 or 11, by which point I have run out of quests and gotten bored with dye and charr farming. But really it's an individual thing I think.

I ususally leave around 6-7, i find that around that level its easy to level up and take on the monsters around old ascalon without too much difficulty.

I think level 8 is a good level for a warrior to leave PS. That's usually the level I leave at unless I want to hunt some char for fun.

Really if you simply do all the quests you can do, you end up at a good level to leave, which is around 7-9

For me, I usually leave as soon as possible. That means about level 2 or 3. As long as you do some quests before you go into the first mission in post-sear, then any level is fine.

I don't think you should ever leave pre-sear. It's so nice and secluded and beautiful there...

Level 7-8 is normal for me, which is about when you finish up all the quests.

Most people leave around 7-10 unless they are charr farming, or going to get ran in post. I recommned staying until you can appreciate how great pre is.

For first characters I always recommend level 7 or 8. After that it is really an individual choice. Most people seem to do the skill quests and leave at level 5 or so. You found 5 or 6 too low before, but as this is your second character you may find that level 8 makes the ascalon area too easy. You may need to quickly head to pikens or eastern frontier for challenging quests.

I love presearing. Well...I did until I played through it over 15 times :/. Anyway if you like the place, stay around, do all the quests. After you've done all the quests you can find, you can go up north and kill charr for a while, or just sear. Whenever I play a character through in presearing, all I do is go through and do every quest. By the time I'm done with all the quests I'm lvl 7-8. 7-8 seems like a good time to sear. Prolly not worth staying around much longer than 7-8 though.

There will be better armor in Ascalon City the moment you go post-sear.

I usually go for level 7
the boot collector is at the exit of the catecombs to green hills country, follow the gargoyle path
you need 5 gargoyle skulls

If it's the first time you play, you stay in Pre-Searing till it gets boring, then you go over. Normally that'll be around level 6-8.

It really depends on how easy or hard you want the game to be once you get there. Obviously the higher your level the easier it will be to play.
