Ive noticed that you are able to solo the ritualist boss next to Reefclaw. You can find him on the little piece of land right before you reach Reefclaw. His name is Soulwhisper, Elder Guardian and he drops this green http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Soulwhisper%27s_Guardian

I use These skills When i solo The Boss:

Enraged Lunge [E]
Feral Lunge
Poisonous Bite
Predator's Pounce
Distracting Shot (or Disrupting Lunge)
Call Of Protection
Comfort Animal
Charm Animal

Atts are:
16 Beast
13 Exp

(If you are wondering why I dont use Predatory bond Its because it's not usefull in this solo because u only have to kill one person. If you dont feel comfertable without it, take out one of the attack skills)

Basically you exit leviathan and head towards reefclaw. I get a blessing from the luxon priest outside cause it helps in a few spots. When you come to the boss you will notice that he is surround by six rotwollow. You can either take one group of the rotwollow or just get the patroling outcasts to kill them for you. If you use the outcasts, head towards the southwest side of the boss.

Try to aggro all the rotwollow to the outcast so that they will fight.

Once the rotwollow are dead head to the side closet to leviathan pits. When fighting the boss. Make sure that he DOES NOT get off Preservation. Bring either distracting shot or disrupting lunge(which ever you prefer). I use distracting shot cause my pet is slow -_-. Just spam all your attacks on him. heal you pet with comfort animal when he uses his dmg spells and he will die. Only killed him twice so far, no drops .

Hope this helps to anyone wanting that green.

UPDATE: I got one

Is a Dire or a Hearty pet the best for this solo/pet ranger build?

I definately prefer using a dire pet for this farming build, if you have a hearty pet, the bosses may take longer to kill, but you will have more pet endurance.

I like Dire, but it really is up to you.

very nice build.

i was able to solo ghial with the build, but it was tricky because the pet would aggro another mob. warrior solo is faster for ghial imo.

as for runes a BM should usually have 16 BM for maximum damage from the pet.

Hey guys, sorry for the slow replies, school has started and I have alot of work everday.

I use 16 Beastmastery (Mask + Sup Rune) and also a minor expertice.

I have another solo video that I may put onto the internet, I kinda cheated though because /Me is required. I have alot more that I can do that I really should post, I just got really busy lately.

I hope its alloud to post twice in a row on your forum, but its been about a month. Anyways UPDATE!!!

Check out my youtube account for 3 new solo's now that I have had time (sick days). The solo's include a Earth Ele, a Air Ele, and a Restoration Ritualist all with greens.

I know there are more out there, infact, I know many more solo's that take awhile that are available that I havent made a video of yet (including that increasingly popular +5 energy hornbow that drops somewhere in Silent Surf).

If you know of some solo's this build can do, continue to post them, hopefully someday, ranger will be able to solo every zone in the world of guildwars.

One can only wish.

Hehehe, i never went this far with Beastmaster farming but good job

It sure was amusing though when i decided to go into FoW solo and clear the Wailing Lords Forest. Always funny mutilating Armoured Cave Spiders with a Dire Black Widow Run as One ftw.

Thanks for posting the build Craze Horse. It has been a very long time since I used my pet for anything. I took out my new Black Moa and started to do some farming.

I am having difficulties with the pet holding aggro as when I pull back to get behind some cover my pet wants to come along with me. I have tried the constant call target and that did not work. I have tried to just select the target to attack and hit space then pull back but my pet still does not want to stay there. I am going to keep at it and sooner or later I will get this down.

On some bosses that I have farmed I like to take my wife out with me, not that it is needed but it is fun all the same. She will be running a healing/smiting monk build. Once I can get the aggro on the pet (usually takes awhile unless I can get the terrian to work for us) and we hide behind a wall she will use SoJ on the pet and cast a spell on it every now and then to trigger Zealots Fire. Does wonders with taking down mobs a lot quicker. Plus it helps to have her along to smite that annoying Binding Chains off the pet as sometimes the mobs quit attacking the pet when that is on. As stated it is not needed to bring another but who can tell their wives to go do something else and let me solo? I know I can not plus it is nice to have some company along for the ride every now and then.

Really got to thank you for posting these builds. I went out today and kill Lorelle for her bow and on the second attempt out I got it. I left out from The Aurios Mines and killed everything leading up to the boss. I then had to kill all the creatures that was with the boss in order for the melee creatures to stay off me. I then had to make my life rather low in order for the boss to target me and not my pet. The build I used (Ty Dragasa) had no problems taking out the Rockhide Dragons and Leviathan Mouths. Looking at the screenshot you can tell I got a really sweet drop from my second time out.

I was also able to farm Byzzr Wingmender and get its green. I removed Predatory Bond and put in Symbiotic Bond. I had my wife with her monk with me so I could sacrifice heals for more damage. I am sure it can be done solo also by putting in some form of heal.

Inscribed I left from the same place as you to farm Lorelle. I killed all the mobs on the way down to where Lorelle spawns at.

The corner I used to hide behind is the one you came down. What you have to do is pull the group so that they start to come down the little hill leading to the path you came down. You will have to kite the boss a little bit to avoid being killed. Once the melee mobs are near you start to go into the path you came down and stay near the wall.

Once behind the wall you can now take out the melee mobs and then go after the boss. I had to lower my life total in order for the boss to stay attacking me and not my pet.

I can not sure if you can see the screenshot I put into my previous post as the computer I am on now does not show it. If you can you should see what corner I am talking about to hide behind. If not I will upload the pic to a different server and put it in here again so that you can see.

when i went after Lorelle i was coming from Leviathan Pits, because my ranger hadn't been to Aurios Mines yet. if you check the radar on my pic you'll see a cluster of red dots in the lower left corner, those are the oni that drop the ungues. once you get to know the patrols you'll only have to fight 2 groups before getting to Lorelle. but if you're coming from Aurios then you should follow slimreb's advice, i've never come at her from that direction.

and while you're there you might want to take a shot at killing Arius, Dark Apostle. i did it once when i was after Lorelle, because Arius is pretty close to the same location. the only problem is that Arius has a habit of getting herself killed before you can get to her, but if you kill her and she drops her daggers that's about 20-25k in your pocket. Arius can be tough depending on the party she spawns with. she almost always has at least 1 rit, sometimes 2, and 2 assassins, and they'll make killing Arius a pain in the ass. if you're lucky she'll just have warriors and deathhands with her, makes it a bit easier in my opinion. just don't use poisonous bite on deathhands (plague touch) or you'll have to do alot more healing than necessary on your pet.

i made a list of some bosses in the jade sea area that are farmable with a beastmaster. i was able to kill all of them last night. some were relatively easy, some require patience, and some will require some creativity, but if any of them have a drop you're looking for, now is the time to get them.

Seacrash, Elder Guardian
Reefclaw Ragebound
Jacqui The Reaver
Lukrker Foulfist
Bahnba Shockfoot
Razorfang Hazeclaw
Soulwhisper, Elder Guardian
Lorelle Jade Cutter
Arius, Dark Apostle
Sentasi, The Jade Maul
Razorjaw Longspine
Kenrii Sea Sorrow
Whispering Ritual Lord
Sourbeak Rotshell
Amadis, Wind of the Sea

Talous the Mad - only tried Talous once a while back, a pain in the ass. conjure phantasm + recurring insecurity, you'll be spending most of you're energy keeping you're pet alive. i had to draw agro to take some of the heat off my pet, died about 5 seconds after Talous did.

i'm going back tonight to take a crack at some of the other bosses in the jade sea, then moving on the the echovald forest. i was having a little trouble keeping my pet on target. sometimes my pet would disengage if i moved, even if it was just moving a little to the left to keep out of the line of fire. made some of farms a bit of a pain.

EDIT:
added Amadis, Wind of the Sea and Sourbeak Rotshell to the list. i'm done with the jade sea, getting sick of looking at it.

ok, here's a list of bosses on the kurzick side i took down last night.

Mahr Stonebreaker
Ryver Mossplanter
Craw Stonereap
The Pain Eater
The Skill Eater
Chkkr Thousand Tail
Bazzr Icewing
Bezzr Wingstorm
Byzzr Wingmender
Chkkr Locust Lord
Chkkr Brightclaw

the following bosses are in mourning veil falls. i used the priest pulling trick to kill them:
Rahse Windcatcher
Xisni Dream Haunt
Deeproot Sorrow
Chkkr Ironclaw - the hardest to kill. he spams heal sig. took almost 10 minutes of 1 on 1 to kill him and he didn't drop anything, not even a crappy white item. if you really want to go after him, you might want to try going R/Me with ignorance.

i've noticed that they changed some of the spawns, putting mobs in spots that i know they weren't in before, but i can't say that the change was done for the green weekend or if it was done earlier. i haven't farmed in echovald for a while, so i don't know when the changes where made. going back in today to go after a few more bosses, i'll add any i kill to the list.

It is a brilliant build however, and switching between the builds was smart, especially since you need Heal As One for some of these bosses.

I have to try that ghail solo with a ranger, and all of these other ones, except that ranger Yeti boss because his bow stinks -_- i run a r/e in pvp with gale+bestial mauling and its hella fun, pwns the rc prot like its nothing

Thanks Dragasa, as always you have top of the line information.

As for getting enemies to aggro to your pet, use a longbow or flatbow to pull before switching to a staff. Then dont' be afraid to run away some so they drop to your pet.

my beastmaster has invaded Elona. i did a little farming with him yesterday, cleaned out every boss on one area, got a few greens. i'll start posting the bosses here at some point, but i want to wait and see if they fix the AI bug first. right now a lot of the bosses will chase you, then go back and just stand there. they won't attack, but maybe spam a heal if they have one. it doesn't allow for an accurate list of farmable bosses because the fight would go differently under normal circumstances. any bosses i listed would need an * next to their name. but i'll give it a week, take my ranger further in the game, and see if the AI changes. if it does, i'll go back an redo everything to see what can be farmed. if it stays the same, then you can probably farm anything. it doesn't attack, so it poses no threat.

off topic:
congratulations Craze Horse on making guild of the week.

so, yesterday i didn't have the problem with the bugged AI, everything was acting normally. here's a quick list of what you can farm:

Marga Coast bosses: All

Sunward Marches bosses: All

Arjok Ward bosses: All

Dejarin Estates bosses: All

i'm not going to bother listing all the names (because i can't remember them, and guildwiki isn't working). i've been trying them out while questing/farming sunspear points, whenever i come across a boss i take a shot at him. so i should point out that i have a full team of hero/henches with me. what i do is use the henches to take down the bosses mob, then send them off far away (until their names gray out in the party window) and then go back in for the kill. if you're going to do it this way, make sure you call targets so that your henches don't start in on the boss and take the kill away from you. also, if you have an MM hero, use putrid flesh to blow up a few minions before taking out the mob, otherwise you risk losing the kill because minions will hang around and keep fighting after the MM leaves. my MM can only raise 8 minions (no runes for him, i figure if he gets a share of the drops then he can buy his own damn runes), so i usually take it down to 4. the only area i've had trouble with is the Barbarous Shore, i got my ass handed to me there. i'll update the list every few days as i play through the game.

Very very good work. I'll start investigation of the nightfall area as soon as I level up my new Dire Hyena.

I think they fixed the AI to a certain degree if not all the way. Hopefully it stays fixed and problems don't become a problem.

part II of the list:

Jahai Bluffs: All

Turai's Procession : All? - guildwiki lists a mesmer boss there, but i don't remember coming across it. either way, you can probably kill it if you see it.

The Floodplain of Mahnkelon :
Terob Roundback
Robah Hardback
Jerneh Nightbringer
Zelnehlun Fastfoot

Yatendi Canyons:
Tain the Corrupter
Makdeh the Aggravating
Hajok Earthguardian
Lieutenant Vanahk
Corporal Suli
Yamesh Mindclouder ? - can't remember if i saw him there, or if guildwiki is wrong, but either way, you can kill him

Vehtendi Valley :
Chumab the Prideful
Yamesh Mindclouder
guildwiki lists 2 other bosses here, but i didn't see them, i'll go out again for another round at a future date

Forum Highlands :
Bolten Largebelly
Korshek the Immolated
Churahm, Spirit Warrior ? - i think i killed it, having a little trouble remembering

The Mirror of Lyss :
Briahn the Chosen
Yammiron, Ether Lord

some of the bosses can't be done with a pure beastmaster build. some monk bosses are heal spammers, so i went as R/Mo with scourge healing and let them heal themselves to death. for some other bosses i went R/Me with backfire. a few warrior bosses were hitting hard, killing me in 2 hits (250 damage in 1 hit). any bosses not listed in the areas above might still be farmable, i just didn't want to spend too much time farming, i just want to play the game for now (and i don't need a lot of crap sitting in my already limited storage, nor wasting time trying to sell everything).

here's a quick list of my winnings so far, almost all were gotten on my first try.

OK, sorry for being such a noob but I don't get it, some of these bosses are surrounded by rather large mobs, so even if I can get the right aggro (i.e. they all attack the pet, not me), the pet will die quicker than I can heal it..

So please, would someone post a brief guide, the actual build used, or at least the essential tip(s) on how to solo such large mobs surrounding most of those bosses? How can you keep the pet alive through so much accumulated damage and hexes?

Unless this is about using henchies/heroes to clear out the mobs around a boss and then sending them away before moving in "solo" for the kill -- that I know how to do, but that's not "solo" and it may be nerfed in the future..

some times when my pet is getting heavy degen from hexes/conditions i just let it die. at 16 BM your pet will rez with 61% health, hex/condition free, which is better than blowing through your energy spamming heals to keep your pet hovering at 20-30% health with massive degen on it. and it will usually go right back to attacking after being rezzed. and like i said in my earlier post, i'm just taking shots as i play through the game, so i have a full hench team with me to take out the mob before killing the boss. it's not really "solo", but that doesn't bother me much. i'm just more interested in playing the game than farming right now, and i've been playing through it as a beast master, so i thought i'd keep track of whatever i killed along the way. the only time i ever go back for a second try is if i couldn't do it my first time, but thought i could make the kill by adjusting my build and giving it another shot. then i'll give it a few tries with a few different builds to see what works, and if it can be farmed. if it takes more than a few tries i just say screw it and move on. i don't want to waste too much time on farming right now.
