15K armor worth it?
Warpy
Ello,
I currently have Ascetic's Dragon design for my monk and wanted to know if the 15K armor (Ascetic's Water design) found at Granite Citadel is worth the upgrade in terms of energy.

1.5k and 15k armor are exactly the same in stats. No difference except in looks.

15k armor for any prof has same stats as droks. just different looks
SparhawkJC
Instead of saying different looks, lets call it better looks. The only case where a 1.5k armor is better looking than 15k in my opinion is Kurzick Female Monk Armor. Transforms your hot little monk from a hip looking hottie into a prude looking secretary.
VitisVinifera
this can only be determined by the buyer, for some it is for some it isnt
edit: same goes for fissure armor (looking at my av one can guess my answer)

So would 40 energy for a monk be expected with Ascetic's Dragon design, Brohn's Holy Rod and Byzzr's Benediction?

as has already been mentioned the stats are of course the same, generally with 15k armours they will look better to the buyer than the 1.5k alternative, but considering Tatoos are Tatoos and complicated drawn little patterns anyway there is no large difference in looks either, best stick to the 1.5k
and if it is for 55 monking you don't even need droks Tatoos, most go for Lions Arch tatoos

Kyle
Droks armor is the cheapest best armor you will find. Anything above that (not including factions) will just be looks. 1.5k droks and 1 million+ FOW armor is the same stats just different looks

55 monk is a build using superior runes on all of your armour pieces and a focus from an Ascalon Quest reward which reduces your health by 50 to give you 55 Health, you use Prot Spirit which does not let you recieve damage above 10% of you max health (55) so you take very small amounts of damage and use Mending to recover with, and Healing breeze to give a very quick recovery, you use Blessed Aura to increase Enchant Length, Balth Spirit and Essence Bond for energy and Mending for innate regen. Then you use Shield of Judgement to deal damage to anythign that attacks you, i can go a lot more in depth but perhaps we can talk in game and i could teach you

30e defualt
7e Ascetic's Bonus
12e Byzzr's Focus
And as for the 55 farming techinique; it's dying with the growing popularity of the Shirtless build. I recently made the switch and farming with the latter is a lot easier and faster than 55 farming.
This is assuming you have Factions along with Proph, because the skill Spirit Bond is needed for the Shirtless build to work.

I have 3 of each as a matter of fact.

if you add the factions key to your existing account then yes.
Since you don't have factions, your only option for monk farming is the 55 Monk build presently. I would suggest either farming Mountain Trolls in the cave outside of Droknar's Forge or Minotuars at the beginning of the Elona reach mission.
Always farm in moderation aslo, wouldn't want to be mistaken for being a bot and get banned.

I have been checking out the monk armor sets for Factions too on the web. Are there any monk armor sets with higher energy than Ascetic's Dragon design?

looks wise 15k is worth it if you have the money too spend.
practicality wise if youre just looking for armor to give you max stats and functionality, then go 1.5k and save your money for items/upgrades
