the age limit on the box

Anet uses both www.esrb.org and www.pegi.info. Both organisations are voluntary (which means that Anet does not necessarily have to get their game rated, but by doing so, will effectively increase their product sales), ESRB is American, PEGI is european (Australasia inclusive).
Quote from ESRB:
Do all games require a rating?
similar thing with PEGI,
see, this is why you do research before posting your thread :P. Anet hasn't made any changes at all, it's just a different display depending on where you live^^.
Oh, I forgot to add. PEGI uses 12+, ESRB uses "Teen"
Quote from ESRB:
Do all games require a rating?
Quote:
No. The rating system is voluntary, although virtually all games that are sold at retail are rated by the ESRB and their publishers adhere to the ESRB's Advertising Review Council's Principles and Guidelines for Responsible Advertising Practices, which were put into effect in January 2000.
Quote:
As the game industry’s self-regulatory body, ESRB is responsible for the enforcement of its rating system. Every publisher of a game rated by the ESRB is legally bound to disclose all pertinent content when submitting the game for an ESRB rating. After a game is publicly released, ESRB testers review the final product to ensure that all pertinent content was fully disclosed.
Quote:
The PEGI system is a voluntary Code of Conduct that applies to those members of ISFE who are signatories to the Code of Conduct. This ensures that most of the interactive games market is covered. Publishers of PC games, who are not already members of ISFE will be invited and encouraged to join the scheme, and it is anticipated that market pressure will result in the majority of non ISFE members adopting the scheme. ISFE and NICAM will pro-actively encourage the widest possible take-up of the PEGI system.
Quote:
The PEGI system is one of the most robust in Europe and, in terms of rating criteria, is the strictest. It is in the interests of all parties that games are rated accurately and the procedures for rating individual games have been developed using the experience of many successful national systems.

Ratings are meaningless, it's just a guideline for the parents. The number twelve on the box just means that 12 year olds can play the game without danger to their fragile young psyche.
The only age limit in the game is in fact the EULA which you can't "sign" yourself if you are under 13, so If Anet finds if you are under 13 they should ban you and make you send them a permission from your parents to play.

Not all people that are young are immature, but, That's where a LOT of the immaturity comes from... The 12+ is because there is no blood. |

One quick idea to solve bad language IN GAME is if somone say any bad laungage even calling somone a noob .. i think should be auto logged off =/

Wow, 12 years old?
I'm truly surprised. I expected something like 8 years old.
Just go to Beacons or Droks and uncheck the mute local in your chat (because you keep it muted, right?) and take a look for yourself. If you think they're all 12+ years old, well, I think you should share whatever wreckreational drug you're abusing.

Really, people should learn how to use the filter. Parents complain that little Johnny saw a swear in Guild Wars, but fail to realize that their is a simple filter option so that little Johnny stays "clean" (really though what child isn't vulgar these days?).
Also, most of these people that call others names in a GAME are:
1. Little children with no grasp on the words
2. People with anger management problems
3. People who are having a bad day (I've done this)
4. People who are just plain ***holes
5. People who are just making up for their own short-commings
They can also be any combination of the 5, and I might have left something out.
