Ok, I've been trying to get Milthuran to drop his staff, and no luck. I'm sure it can't be the farming code, because I often do a few runs on him, then do something else for hours and decide I want to try cracking his head again. Is he like Rajazan where he has to have his staff out to get the drop? Or is he just very reluctant to let it go?

I know what you mean, man. I've been going for Wing's Axe and Royen's Hornbow... no luck after 10+ runs

You don't need to do anything special to get any boss to drop their green. Just do about 10 runs, take a break, then repeat.
I got it after like 50 runs, though. :/

Milthuran is notoriously overfarmed. He's near an exit and a shrine. People zone out over and over to get his green. They also use the healing/damage from the shring NPCs.
All of that leads to anti farming code/lower drop rate.
The best thing to do is to fight him and his crew away from the shrine. Any ranger can kill this group. If you happen to have a touch ranger than it's all the more easy.

took my 2 weeks to get 2 staffs farming him wiht my ele. i can only say hang in there

uhm when i began farming him i did like 60 runs, and no drop of greenie at all, then some guy told me that i have to finish him off with melee, so i just took one attack skill and started regular run, then when he was low on hp i finished him, 3rd time that way and he dropped greenie, from now on he drops his staff regularly :P
so my idea is to finish him off with melee/ranged attack, not sure if it's a real reason, but worked at least for me :P

You DO seem to have bad luck with greens, until you get one though Chui
