First Faction now Nightfall?

ok, so I was with a work...guy driving around Toronto yesterday to look at cellular t5owers for work. and his memory card filled up for the pictures we needed to take pictures, so we went into a strip mall and there was the Source. So I told him that i wanted to get a game (GW:F), but I didnt know if I should. So i went into EB beside the source, and now I have Factions ^^. But now, today I came back on the forum to see how things are going, and find out that a new GW is coming out? Why are they releasing it so fast...are other people confuzzled by this, or is it just that i am out of the loop.
Yarr...i will bget back in the loop someday, Aye!!

They release them fast because its a FREE online game hile other games charge $10 a month and update every 3 months! So they use a structure of releasing new games once every 6 months. (which works out cheaper than 60$) so its a way for people who dont want to pay monthly fee to still experience Massive online games without the cost.
Also, these games, like Factions and Nightfall are not like the typical games as you would imagine, like Dungeon Siege, Never Winter nights, Diablo or Sacred.. they call them "chapters" and are more like BIG expansions, rather than full games! - so within the 6 months between expansions you will definatly be wanting to play something new by then.
If you cant afford it, then you have my sympathy, I used to purchase a $40 game for my pc or playstation every single month.. so if you cant afford a $30 every 6 months my heart bleeds for you.
As for the comments about not needing Nightfall and the classes, well.. we do need nightfall to keep Guildwars going, and even if you decide to stop playing gw.. you can return at anytime without having to start paying subscription fees
(and your just whack if you think the new classes are horrible )

well, its not that I cant AFFORD to buy it, its the fact that I dont have the money to SPARE for it. I have about 2G right now, but all of it needs to go towards car insurance. I was just lucky to sneak off to get Factions. And what you are saying is understandable, but not Everybody plays 24/7.
I dont mean to sound...mean here lol, its just the fact that some people cant afford, or just plain cant keep up with every new release that comes out. I am still extatic about the assassin, not so much the ritualist, but these new classes confuse me. Mainly because I havnt heard of them before, and thier kind of spels, but whatever floats your boat lol

lol all i hear is people complain conservatively. I think the dervish class is freakishly awesome, and the paragon class is totally awesome and different.
the pvp is really addictive and my guild is full of people who know and love what they're doing. So overall, from my experience with people who play this game, the people who play well love the game, and the people who don't...well...don't.

lol, dont get me wrong, I love this game. I might just be skeptical of the new classes because I missed the PvP trial and I have absolutely NO idea what they are like what so ever. I'm fairly good at playing the game, and I love it, all MMORPGS. I like it mostly because lots of people are nice and helpful, the missions are (for the most part) fun, and its challanging unlike MANY other games, especially the games where all you do is mainly Grind (just kill things)

Unfortunately, I also missed the trial weekend. So, I don't really know what the new classes are about. I'm in the same boat with you when it comes to expense, so i may not be purchasing the new chapter every 6 months. I'm probably going to have to look at the content of each chapter (the new classes, the actual world, etc.) and pick and choose which ones I get. I like factions, but to be honest, if they put the assassin in another chapter, I probably wouldn't have bought it. I like the asian theme, but it's not normally my choice. I usually play RPG's to get that swords and sorcery, knights and wizards type feel. But, it's all fantasy. Also, six months comes quick to the casual player. I'm very busy with school and work during the semester, so I don't get to play much when I'm taking classes. It took me a year to beat Prophecies! I'm working my way through Factions right now. I deffinatley want to complete it before I purchase another chapter.

Dont worry too much....there are tons of GW players out there who dont even have factions and never want to buy it (and there are many people who after the fiasco with its CE release are going to pause before the buy Nightfall)....Lots of people have factions and STILL have given it a thumbs down and gone back to the original............the way the game is set up it allow you to make that choice. If you dont have the money for the new chapters, play the old ones, you will find lots of people doing the same for different reasons and still having a good time.
I have not made my decision about this new chapter yet, I was one of those with the bad experience of CE release being farked up.......I will NOT buy it pre-release, and probably wont buy a CE for it because of the mess they made of the last chapter. I am also not really excited about the new classes either......so I will wait and see and then make a choice. For now I have a bunch of characters finishing factions and they are heading back to prophecy to finish their titles.

I would recommend getting GW Prophecies first.
Learn the lore. It has way more PVE than Factions.
At anyrate, if you like GW the way I do. You like creative aspect of making a character build. I do so for PVP purposes.
Well a build is comprised of a primary and secondary class. The original GW gave us six classes to mix up. The two expansions will give us 4 additional classes and all their skills to combine in creating builds. For a guy like me that's great.
That's 81 possible class combinations! That's why I like expansions.
And the above poster is correct about the pay to play system opposed to the expansion system.
