Mechanics of the Vampiric and Zealous mods

Recently I came into acquisition of a bow with a 5:1 Vampire mod. Eager to test it out, I ran out into the wilderness and noticed that the mod did 5 damage seperate from the damage that my bow did.

What I wish to know is do the Zealous mods work in the same manner but with Draining Energy?

yep it shows the damage and a purple -1 energy for each succesful hit.

No Zealous does not steal energy from your target. You only gain energy for a successful hit. Whereas a vampiric weapon does its normal damage and steals health from your target causign you to gain and the enemy to loose. Note teh description. Vampiric: Life stealing X Health regen-1, Zealous Energy gain(gain not steal) on hit 1, energy regen-1.

I figured Zealous was gain and not Drain. That is one of my primary weapon mods for both my guys and I never saw the -1 purple number on the enemy.
