Why does people hate rurik?

i hate him cause maiinly all the above he aggros EVERYTHING its really annoying when your trying to stay away from aggroing luckily he died .im glad hes not your partner in HoH.

I hate ALL henchies becuse they aggro everything.

I acctually Like Rurik. His father seems to be the one who is the psycho. The fact that he stood up to him because he acctually (gasp!) cares about his people! is what made him cool to me.

But seriously, apart from his (wannabe) heroic behavior, he is actually usefull in some missions.

I've always liked Rurik.

Sure it's a pain to keep him alive in some missions, but I also think it is kind of fun to try.

And I love all his charging into battle sayings, "For Ascalon!"

And if Rurik hadn't been so heroic and disobayed his father we all would never have made it to Kryta .

I totally agree with you both. I love the fact that he stood up to his father in order to save the people. In fact, it's still my favorite cut scene in both chapters. He is a challenge, that's for sure. I also get a kick out of all the things he says as he's charging in to battle besides the "for ascalon". He is a hoot.

I love one of his special skills: Knock
but indeed, he's sucks 99% of the time

He goes charging off fighting everything in site, but then he waits at the drawbridge and tells YOU to go around and open it while he rests onhis butt.

I do not hate him, I do dislike him a whole bunch! Reason, I just did Surmia mission with my new monk. What's Rurick do!? Gets stuck on a chest in the area where the mages come from prior to the doors where he must say his spew. Re-start mission (BTW I cleared the map before leaving to try and un stick him). Not that big a deal you say? Probably not except for the next mission right after is Nolani. Guess who finds another chest to get stuck on!! Twice in a row (not counting the repeated Surmia mission) this fool finds a chest to get stuck on!!! Good thing that Nolani can be finished without him there fighting.

He's King of the Wammo...there teacher, lord and master...
He's teaches the Wammo to aggro every enemy and to run into battle with out thinking....And to play total f- ed up...

Rurik does not delegate, that's why I hate him.

I, Rurik, cannot trust you to complete this mission on your own.
So Therefore I, Prince Rurik of Ascalon, shall run out in front and aggro everything I see. "For Ascalon"!!!

Lets face it if he could delegate he would still be alive when we got to kryta...

I think the real question is why might people like Rurik. =P

I don't have a problem with Rurik's character, but when he's in your party he does make things aggravating.

the guy that you help find his girl friend with for the first cathan attribute point quest kind of reminds me of rurik, but he uses a axe and is level 20, fine for rushing level 8s

Just because you can't be as cool as him doesn't mean you have to hate him!!


Just look at the guy, cool beard, his helmet could use an upgrade but it looks waaaaay better than the default warrior buckets.
He has the best cape in all of GW. Nobody else has a cap that long and cool with such an interesting emblem.

This guy, although he is dumb and doesn't listen to his father, tries to save the people of ascalon, tries to do everything he can to save the entire world!!!!

He's like a local superhero.
