I don't know how they became what they are today. The Mursaat are all Spellcasters this is true, The Jade serve as their Melee and Ranged units. How did the Jade come to be? I myself have some theories, but I would like to hear yours as well.

They can use the Monster Skill known as Spectral Agony, just the same as their counterparts the Mursaat. This leads me to believe they are Mursaat Souls in metallic Jade husks, playing the roles of Warriors and Rangers in the Mursaat Army.

Please post your theories here about how the Jade came to be.

Whatever works for you, but they are certainly the coolest looking monster in all of gw.. and remind me of maximillian from the black hole.

I like your theory. They resamble Shiro's constructs a bit to me (floating stone parts, 'living' creatures' skills), so they are likely inhabitet by souls of Mursaat.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the Jades are suits of jade armour powered trapped souls of the Chosen.

He was cool.

It's mentioned what the Jades are. Jades and ether seals are Mursaat constructs powered by bound human (generally chosen) souls. Talk to the guy who brings you to RoF, he says 'they'll put my soul in one of those statues' or something. Also, you can free the souls of chosen by shattering the seals (Leah Stone).

The souls of the chosen hewn on the bloodstones are harvested by the Jade batteries, which power the Door of Komalie, Jade armor/bows, seals, towers, etc..

The chosen are not the oens that inhabit the Jade and Ether Seals, how would they use Spectral Agony being only normal human souls. They were CHOSEN to destroy the Mursaat, which is why they are executed by the White Mantle.

How do you know you can free te souls by destroying the stone, there is no indication that this is true.

Oh, and the ether seals at the Door of Komalie are there to CLOSE the door, not to power it. The Mursaat fear the titans, so they keep them locked inside the Door of Komalie, kept closed by the Ether Seals at the door.

P.S. Burning Titans are cooler XD

Yep, definitely captured souls in a jade husk. Not only is the material the same as in the soul sigils (or what they're called), but Jade Warriors even spawn from such soul sigils in the mission where you kill Markis.

Also, soul-powered husks are found in other places in GW: juggernauts and shuriken (and Enchanted Armors?), so soul-binding seems a pretty common practice in the GW universe.

EDIT: yes, it is Chosen who power the Jade Batteries. Talk to Jacob Selinger in Hells Precipice. Also the bonus in Abbaddons Mouth is to help a human spirit you release from a soul battery to find peace. There is no indication it is also human spirits in Jade Armors, though.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were though, a similar concept to Shiro'ken (that use Song of the Mist). Also note that jades don't cast agony, it triggers on striking, so it could be something twisted into the armor itself.

Nephrite and jadeite jade ranges in color from a somewhat greasy-appearing, white ("mutton fat jade") to dark and light shades of green, gray, blue-green, lavender, yellow, orange, brown, reddish-brown, and black

I think the Jades are related to the Enchanted in Crystal Desert. Perhaps the Forgotten there got some assistance from Mursats in ages past, in order to prevent the choosen from ascending.

I wonder if the Luxons jadeite were used in the those jade armors. Even though The Canthan Jade is green & the Jades have been there far longer than the jade wind, it shouldnt have stop them from constructing more. or with magic altering (perhaps due to the soul infusing ) green jade to be red jade

So the huge cutscene where you destroy the Seals and Souls start flying out everywhere doesn't exist? I coulda swore there was a mission called Abaddon's Mouth.

"Power" was misused in his sentence. The Seals "Power" is there to keep the Door Closed, You are 100% correct. In any effect though breaking them and releasing the souls lets the Door open.

They remind me of the "necrons" from the warhammer 40,000 universe.

".......their souls were encased in living metal bodies. What they did not know was that the process dulled their minds and senses so they became slaves of the C'tan. The C'tan needed warrior-slaves to harvest the life forms of the galaxy so the star gods can feast on souls, and the C'tan's new Necrons served this purpose well......."
