Double rare drops?

i ran a group until fire flowers had 2 gold chest and about 3 gold drops and thats with 2 people dcing at start (10/12)...had various blue and purple as well...gold drops were mostly zodiac or ceremonail daggers :/..group died goin for gold chest on bridge lol it was funny

first run in urgoz, group didnt last but a minute after the degen room. 1 gold chest, got a req8 curse staff and died b4 i could pick it up. the whole group died shortly after that. WEAPONS AND LOOT SHOULD BE ALLOCATED TO THE PLAYER WHEN YOU RETURN TO THE OUTPOST. Its stupid as fuk to spend 1.5k on a key and open a chest and die and not get the item because your party failed and had to return to an outpost.
2nd urgoz run, nothing. (45min tops)
1st sucessful deep run. 1 gold drop for one person out of the whole group. 1 purple chest. that was within a 2 1/2 hour timeframe.
#1 its not worth the time spent going.
#2 too hard and too time consuming.
#3 solo farming and duel uw or fow group runs are more profitable.
#4 i wont go back.

My guild did Urgoz this morning and we had two RARE drops and seen two Gold chests. Based on our run through the Urgoz elite mission, the amount of RARE drops appear to be normal.
Uniques (Green items) are not part of this weekends event.

spent about 4 hours on urgoz last night, in that time we had 2 gold chests, and one or two purple drops from mobs.
Went to uw 2 man farming, had a gold drop from first aataxe killed, then a ecto , and finally a sapphire from the third mob.
Im going to take advantage of the fact everyone is doing elites this weekend and stick with uw.

Think of the hours spent playing by people thinking they were getting double loot. While some said it didn't seem like double, others called them "whiners" and said things like "double 2% is only 4%." Looks like the "whiners" win this round. Though I doubt that's much consolation.
Expect nothing, and you get more than you need. I do these missions for fun. Give the elite items to people who can't do without them.

The goal of this event is to learn how to coop and to teach the players the value of a good Guild. Not to get rich of rare items, so you can scam newbies out of their hard earned gold coins.

Well at the start of the event there was a bug that did not allow double chance drops but in a second update they fixed that. By double gold item drops means double chance for a gold to drop from monsters This means you can have a unlucky run and not see a ton of gold items drop yet you might also see a butt-load of golds drop. Last night we had about 3-6 golds drop in one run and we only made it to about the half way mark. If you dont notice more drops since the update maybe you are just having bad luck so far.
I went into the Warren with a BP Pug last night. It took us almost four hours but we completed it with the EoE trick. The drops I did notice seemed to be quite good. 12 gold drops and two Gold chests, although not a single gold dropped for me and both my chest drops were crap to the max(hp+29 zodiac staff req 12 death magic, gold fiery max zodiac daggers). When we killed Urgoz it was down to 9 of us. Silly me figuring he would drop double greens but alas he only dropped one of each, again none for me. When it was all said and done I came out with a few crafting materials and about 2k. That was the biggest waste of 4 hours ever. Sure I complted Urgoz's Warren but I have jack squat to show for it. I can make more doing Hydra runs. I won't be doing one of the elites ever again.
Anet if you're reading this, please make the elite missions worthwhile for everyone who finishes it. Having only 1/4 of the team getting a nice reward is not very fair and ballanced imo.
