Money from locked chests

Here is a simple idea that I thought might be worth mentioning. Have locked chests sometimes drop cash. I have a few prerequisites that go along with this idea. First, cash dropped must at least cover the cost of the key. Second, you'd want to avoid having the person who opened the chest gain the least. Since cash is split between the party, and no others paid for a key that opened the drop, it would be more fair to give it all to the person who opened the chest. One way of doing this without changing the gold drop code would be to make the chest drop an assignable item (somewhat like dragon festival prizes), that can be picked up and opened by one person. The person who opens the dropped prize gets all the cash.

Straight cash can go alot further than a gold item; Many items, no, Most items droped in chests are worthless PoS which will not sell much from vendor and often don't even have one valuable mod, I would much perfer if I got rare crafting materials or a couple plat from a chest, like a piece or 2 of amber, or an Obsidian Shard, or a Ruby..... or 2-3 Plat.

There's a reason chests are called gold sinks.

it's why I don't bring keys with me on my tombs runs, I loose money on them most of the time, I would love to get a ecto from a chest[or something else of value, ectos would be first on my list though]

One way to do that is to have the chest that drop something in more value that can be sold to the NPC (and not the desire value such as a nice skin weapon).

Personally, I don't see much wrong with the current system... The key is a form of gold sink. But again, I don't do chest runs.
