Ruins Of Surmia Gates

Hi All,

I am working on my Cartographer Title for Tyria and have started going back through missions to make sure I have edge run it all. While in the Surmia Mission I did the bonus quest and allowed the Ember Bearers make it to the West gate, killed them, killed the flame guys and such.

However, I want to know if there is a way to get into the East gate? The gate that the Ember Bearers start at. They don't come through it, so you can't kill them on the way out (they just appear in front of it when you talk to Breena), it doesn't open when the 2 west gates are opened, yet there is a boss mob hanging out back there, so that suggests that it might open.

Has anyone figured this out yet?

I've done that mission plenty of times. I've never been able to get into that gate.

Yep. I went to Guild Wiki first, unfortunately there is nothing there about entering the east gate. I'm hoping it's a not so well known secret by someone here on the forums.

Check one of the threads about 100% exploration. They post their maps so you can check if you need that bit or not.

No, you can't go though that gate - I tried many different things to do it, but it's just decoration. That Boss that's on the other side, just out of bow range? He's just there to taunt you.

It worked, I was thoroughly taunted...
