I think thsi goes here, if not move it.

I'm planning on entering that desing a guild emblem contest, and whilei was reading through the ruleas and other stuff i came across something that i didn't understand.

Deadline: Entries must be postmarked by Friday, August 25, 2006, and must be received by September 8, 2006.

Ok i get that they have to have them by Sept 8th, but do i have to send them after the Aug 25? Or can i send them anytime?

Yes yes, i know i'm stupid...

You have to get them to the post office before August 25th so they can get postmarked (Post Office --> Postmark), and then the post office has to get them to Anet by Sept 8th. So make sure to put proper postage on your parcel.
