Urgoz vs Deep?
antoninus

(haven't done Urgoz /doh or even played GW for the past month... sigh college is actually keeping me busy now)

It was ridiculous when it teleported and knocked you down every 3 seconds. How can something like that get past play testing, unless they don't test it, and just let bug reports be the test.

The Deep is far better IMHO.
Urgoz (even outside Elite weekend) is just Tombs all over again (B/P groups). I got soooo sick of those type groups with my ranger/monk/necro that I hardly ever play them these days.
At least with The Deep people have varied group preferences, even if monks & tanks are the most integral part of the majority of builds here.

I've only done Urgoz, so obviously I much prefer Urgoz. I've 'attempted' The Deep, but I was hella confused, and I was in with a random PUG that seemed to have no idea what they were doing. We died at the very beginning so I decided that didn't count as actually having done The Deep :P

The Deep is just boring... and besides. However much they tried to stop B/P teams. Obviously with the Deep they used the 4 room thing, which suceeds in nothing but making 1 room wait for 30 minutes while the rest fight it worked. They gave the Dredge Shields Up, sure it slows them down... but it was never really gonna stop it.
At least they actually made things challenging in Urgoz. Remove the ridiculous Aspect things and the Deep is nothing. The enemies in it suck, the only thing that makes Outcast even slightly threatening is the fact you fight them with a bugged Depletion or a bugged Scorpion Aspect. Oni are a waste of space if you remove the 'no enchantments'. Just like the Ranger spikers in the 'no cast' zone would be nothing.
Urgoz... the weakness rooms? They alone practically stop warriors doing anything. Urgoz is all about EoE and traps, my alliance did fine with 2 trappers and 2 nukers though. Deep is just about traps and using warriors effectively to lure Kanaxai to 1 side. Urgoz if you don't be careful you'll end up with a few 100 Thorn Wolves and Greater Blood Drinkers after you.
So far the number of err7s this weekend is insane, after doing Urgoz earlier today and getting lost (none of us could remember the way ) We came to the -4 Degen tree behind the -15 degen/weakness trees. Already had 3 err7s by this point, we get in there and what happens.... our BiP err7s. I haven't had a single trip that wasn't plagued by lag or err7s.

i prefer doing The Deep. My second trip there got me to Kanaxai (first trip was me solo on my necro, acting insane, so that doesnt count) in about 3~ hours. The group had about 4-5 experienced people and that was enough to lead us there. I remember when i did Urgoz we had around the same amount of experienced people, with trappers too and it took us 5 hours to get to the ugly talking tree at the end. i just personally prefer the deep because its not as dark as Urgoz and it was easier IMHO.

well spent the whole weekend doing nothing on GW but Deep runs. Got nothing worth any value and ended with a vast net loss in money, but it was fun and I enjoyed it. I did find that the groups I was in that had the most guild mates (even when it was that guildmate's first time) were the most successful. My last group had 8 guildies, suffered only a minor slowdown at the beggining, but ended in what I believe was record time for the runs I have done and killed Kanaxai the first try faster than I had ever done before.
All this said, I think I am a bit burnt out on the Deep now and will have to try Urgoz sometime.

my alliance keeps having troubles with urgoz..a mission should not take 7 hours >.>

I like the deep in most ways, the one thing that bugs me the most is the Scorpion Aspect Room Because, the teleportation thing is bugged. Period. You don't get teleported 8 times in a row according to the description- its Once every 30 seconds.
Gotta look into getting that a fix or something >_>
EDIT:
Was in it on saturday also, wasn't fixed for us.. you musta had luck sir :P

It has been fixed. I fought through the room when it was bugged and had a hell of a time getting through, but after going through it multiple times yesterday, I experienced the scorpion effect only as it was defined. It's still not the easiest of rooms, but it's a lot more reasonable now. |

Regarding all the supposed err-7's I think you'll find it's more a case of "Elite Boredom" setting in and people using that as an excuse to quit as they do take way too long.
"So how long does this take?" "a good few hours" "oh no I'm getting lag" *disconnect* then you get an "instant in less time it takes to log back in" "I got error 7 apologise to the team for me please"

the Deep was awesome, it was like playing a game of chess, really hard, but throughly enjoyable, and i was really chuffed to score an almost perfect req. 8zodiac zealous longbow

Urgoz was much more entertaining. Watching hordes of monsters coming at you, and cracking a joke or two at it all.
Much better than watching an overpowered Aspect maul your group.

Guild groups ftw...we did Urgoz and beat it in 2 hours 30 mins, but when we did the Deep again we ended up massively lagging and three people (two nukers and one trapper) err7'd resulting in us with no real damage output. Then the Scorpion aspect was STILL buggy for us...we ended up getting way too DP'd up when one of the monks ended up getting tele'd all the way to the Aspect...
Silver_Fang
done Urgoz Warren, i prefer Urgoz to Deep, too many people just concern about the first room and scream they need 4 warrior, 4 monk and 4 nuker during the events, which i dont like. you dont need a monk for the 4th room if you got a good self healing warrior.
Sir Skullcrasher
I love the deep... the place is so hard and rewarding once you beat it!
