how do you change servers?

pretty straight forward question....i heard somewhere that you can change 5 times. how do you do it, and what effects does it have? (i.e. kicking u from a guild on the server you play on, etc.) thanks in advance for the help.

1. Log in.
2. Bottom-left side of page, click Edit Account.
3. Select box which says Edit Territory, or something similar. Then click Next.
4. Ta da.

It changes which districts you can access, i.e. from American to European. Apart from that, not sure.

It depends. It used to be 5, then it got reduced to 4. The reason why they reduced it to 4 is so that you'd end up on the same server you started with. I had 5 server changes because I bought the game before they reduced the number. I used up all of mine, and then I was stuck on a server that I didn't want. ANet/NCSoft was nice enough to give me a "courtesy" switch back to my original server. I believe they do the "courtesy" switch for everyone who had 5 switches.

What would be the advantages to switching? The only one I can think of is that you'd switch to one that has favor more often.

It would be useful if you've got friends on a different server with whom you want to go to FoW or UW. But you'd have to make sure all the people you want to do that with are on the same server, or at least not go to Fow/UW with them very often.
