i looked in the search to see if anyone had posted this before and i couldnt find it. i believe i got the spelling right. but anyways. my g/f and i were watching a show the other day about a type of jellyfish. it is called the irukandji. it is a little bigger than an average sized pinky finger. its tentacles are about the thickness of a piece of hair. if it stings you there is about a 80% chance that you will die. they dont currently have an anti-venom for its stings. but they are working on one. if you dont die you will be in the hosipital for a few weeks. the pain is so bad that the highest dosage of morphine bairly takes away any of the pain. i just thought that this was a cool reference, and figured that i would share this with all of you.

Hm, Anet likes to use Real Life reference when they run out of things to create from myths and lore.

Yah, littlest, not to mention most fragile, jelly in the world..too bad they made em huge in the game though..they're actually kinda cute in real life, but too bad they're deadly and you can kill em by just wacking them with your hand pretty much..poor Irukandji..

i think it is cool that anet puts stuff like this in the game. i like seeing companies doing a little research and getting names from ancient lore or real life things.

yeah i thought the show was full of crap when they said the highest dose of morphine barely killed the pain. but then they showed some videos of people who were stung by them after the morphine had been given to them. those people were rocking back and forth and grabbing their heads. after i saw that i pretty much believed them. these little jellies will mess you up.

Wikipedia Prince Rurik. Definitely a fun read, I almost forgot that real life was ripping off ANet's 100% creative ability for a second there.

They also made a few references to the Princess Bride or what ever it's called with that chick Farrah Cappo in Ascalon, and the skill Bonetti's Defence.

The names were indeed used in the Princess Bride, but they are based on real people. Bonnetti was a fencing master, and Farah Cappo is like a different spelling of some other sword fighter, i can't remember.

What is the connection between the dwarf that lures mursaat away and leeroy jenkins? Sorry I have no idea what Leeroy jenkins is about. Is it something he says?
