Need transport creatures!

It's pretty lame to use WoW as comparison for why there shouldn't be any mounts in GW.
I'm a huge RPG fan and would love to have a good looking, well designed MMORPG with mounts (I don't count WoW into that category, 'coz I hate its graphical design... looks like a comic to me
).
But since GW isn't really an RPG, but a tactical online battle/fantasy game, it would make no sense introducing mounts to it. Especially, since -- as mentioned before in this thread -- this would destroy the game's balance.

Sure sure... and to ride a mount you need the Charm Mount skill, the Feed Mount skill, the Groom Mount skill and the Saddle Mount skill all on you skillbar! While we're at it... if your mount dies in combat, your skills are blacked out for 120 seconds while you mourne for your mount! Plus you need to have level 12 Mounting, a new attribute line that has no skills (save the ones above), but there are no runes for Mounting. And we'll round it off by saying that if your mount dies everything the mount was carrying is spilled on the ground with a 50% chance on being stolen by monsters in the area.
Mounts. Sheesh.
Mounts. Sheesh.

*Gets on Mount, Rides for 3 sec* *Gets off mount cus of combat* -> Repeat that all the time.. GW has Zones, and Monsters everywhere... And since Anet seems to hate Farming And running you would be forced to Zone, or Combat all the time to move though an area..
Also imagen a warmo with a Mount, and you, the monk dont have one.. The Warmo Runs like RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO on his crappy cow and dies before you can even see him again x.x And if you could use it in town we would have 200 idiots jumping around x.x ..

Sprint - move 25% faster for a few seconds
Charge - move 25% faster for a few seconds
Escape - move 25% faster for a few seconds
Dodge - move 33% faster for a few seconds
Zojuns Haste - move 33% faster for a few seconds
Storm Chaser - move 25% faster for a few seconds
Bulls Charge - move 25% faster for a few seconds
Rush - move 25% faster for a few seconds
Retreat - move 33% faster for a few seconds
Call of Haste - move 25% faster for a few seconds
Windborne Speed - move 33% faster for a few seconds
and u can spam all of those too so why would they make mounts increase speed only 5-10%
and mounts wouldnt be that cool anyway because we already move fast enough and it only takes a few mins to get from point A to point B, and if you have the need for speed get a running 2ndary or pay sum1.
If we had mounts, hopefully they either
1. would be for looks, and you can fight on it but it gives you absolutly no bonuses (again it would be for looks only to give pve players something else to try to get) or
2. they would give like 25% extra speed, require some mount skill in your skill bar, and prevent you from using other speed increasing skills while you are on the mount, or
3. it would be another proffession altogether that had mounts.
If it was 2, that would just be pointless and a huge waste (at least in my eyes).
Either of the other ones would be ok, and I would like them (maybe), but I doubt we would have mounts that would give more storage (if we ever get mounts in the first place).

Like some who mentioned, mounts adds more of a RPG feel to the game much like forms of transports like boat and carriages etc which adds favor to the game overall. If it can be implemented without causing imbalance to the PvP component, it will be a nice thing to have much like the minipet which is just another game accessory. Another possibility is implementation of it in a mission as part of the PvE component to give a refreshing change of gameplay.
To those immature "Go play WoW if you want mounts" posters, all i can say is that as fellow gamers its sad when someone says your idea is dumb, sadder still when we set limits in a world of infinate possibilities.
Just as those who said years before GW came to be that if you want to play a MMO that is free go play on a private server when P2P MMOs are the norm.

If GW can have Shiverspeaks and Looser Bladehands, then why not players on mounts? Wouldn't need to add anything to game balance at all. Just for looks and fun - in PvE.
The biggest issue against this as I see it is that it would require some serious reprogramming and remodelling of GuildWars - it doesn't have to cause balancing issues...
