WELL, i was doing dragon's lair with a bud, and i realised glint says,
"They have already slaughtered hundreds of the chosen on one of the 5 Bloodstones..."

something like that anyways,

So, theres bloodstone fen, and then theres... nothing in factions, no more in Kryta... hmm... maybe there will be an appearance of a second bloodstone in Elonia (?)... they cant just dump the fact they made 5 bloodstones in the script ... or maybe they can

*i never really thought of the rock the lich sat on as a bloodstone, more like a throne ... but yes i guess that is one... or do you mean the rock in abaddons mouth?... im not sure anymore XD

never knew about the shiverpeaks one though

Well, there is the bloodstone in shiverpeaks, it is easy to miss since it is mentioned only in the Caves mid-mission vid. Then there is the one at the island so there are 2 unaccounted for.

Um, the bloodstone in the volcano is the one in the island? Or did you miss that one and i'm thinking of a different island...

Very good question though...

The GuildWiki page on bloodstones is interesting: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Bloodstone

The Bloodstones are part of Tyrian lore. We won't see more about them unless Arenanet decide to expand Tyria more.

Your logic is flawed there, Tyia lore is constantly being expanded upon if you haven't noticed. For example the Elonian's are part of Tyian lore yet now we are going to Elonia when many thought the Elonians died off in the crystal desert. We were so very wrong. Here is another example. Vabbi is a country mentioned by Turai Ossa an Elonian and (also decendant of King Doric) a Ghost in the crystal desert. Now we know (Thank you scribe) that Vabbi is a city state of Elona, and we know that Turai Ossa is a hero of another city state of Elona. I think we will revisit the Bloodstones very soon.

From guildwiki on King Doric
Quote:
King Doric was the first king to rule over the unified human kingdom. Before the three human kingdoms of Ascalon, Kryta and Orr were formed, they were regions in one kingdom, and Doric was its first king. He was crowned at King's Watch and had his royal palace at Lion's Arch.

1072 years ago, when the Old Gods' gift of magic had been misused by the races of Tyria and wars were raging across the land, it was Doric who traveled to Arah, the city of the Gods, and pleaded with the Gods to intervene.

The inscription on the Statue of Dwayna describes the event:

"And when the world rang with the clanging of swords and did fire fall from the skies, Dwayna, goddess of life and air, heard the wailings and pleas of the weak.
And when the rumblings of war did not cease, cameth Her charge Doric, who did prostrate himself at Her feet.
And cast She now a glance upon the war-torn lands and wasted flesh of the fallen, and with tears upon Her cheek did lay her gentle hands upon the prostrate man. Then saith She unto him and all Her charges, Lay down thy weapons, and as I have done unto ye, so ye must do for your brethren. Offer protection to the weak. Give solace and shelter to those who need it. Be ye a salve to the wounded.
In response to Doric's plea, the Gods divided the magic in Tyria into four Bloodstones and a Keystone to prevent anyone from ever wielding power over all magic again. They sealed the stones with Doric's blood (hence the name Bloodstones) and placed him and his dynasty in charge of guarding the stones.

King Doric is greatly respected by the people of the three kingdoms. In Ascalon, they built the legendary Horn of King Doric to honor his name.

also from guildwiki on bloodstones
Quote:
Bloodstone is one of five stones that control magic in the world of Tyria.

When the Gods of Tyria created the land of Tyria, they presented the races of Tyria with the gift of magic. This gift was misused by the races of Tyria, and eventually King Doric made a plea to the Gods in the city of Arah that they intervene.

The Gods gathered all the magic from all the races into one tall stone and smashed it into five parts. Four of them were named Stones of Magic, each representing one school of magic: Preservation, Destruction, Aggression and Denial. The fifth stone was required to reassemble the other four. This they called the Keystone. Never again would any one person control all types of magic.

Following that, the Gods sealed the stones with the blood of King Doric (hence the name Bloodstones) and placed him and his dynasty in charge of guarding these stones. The stones were dropped into Abaddon's Mouth, the great volcano in the Ring of Fire Islands. Content that the stones were sealed away, the Gods left Tyria that same year, which became known as the year of the Exodus.

One hundred years later, however, the volcano errupted, spewing forth the Bloodstones back into the world and prompting a regression to the feudal ways of old.

In the current world of Guild Wars, the locations of the following Bloodstones are known:

The Bloodstone at Bloodstone Fen in the Maguuma Jungle which can only be accessed through the mission. This stone is under the control of the White Mantle and is used for their ritual sacrifices of the Chosen.
The Bloodstone at the caldera of the great volcano Abaddon's Mouth, which is used to power the Door of Komalie and keep it locked, probably the keystone.
At the end of the Dragon's Lair mission Glint says that there is a bloodstone in the Southern Shiverpeaks which the White Mantle planned to sacrifice Evennia and Saidra on. It is possibly in the mission Ice Caves of Sorrow.
Note: While standing near a Bloodstone players will be under influence of the Curse of the Bloodstone, which makes resurrection skills take 4 times as long to cast.

Expanded doesn't mean changed. Everything people were wrong about was assumptions based on current knowledge of the Guild Wars lore. Page 30 of the Guild Wars lore book states that the Volcano the Bloodstones were in erupted and scattered them across Tyria. Not Cantha. Not Elona. Tyria. They put references to Elona and Cantha into Guild Wars from the start. If they meant for the Bloodstones to be scattered across all the continents, they wouldn't have specified only Tyria.

"Tyria" has a dual meaning. It's the name of the world (the planet), as well as the name of a continent on that planet.

I don't see that there will be anymore mention of the bloodstones, as not so much that they are a part of tryian lore, but more precisely a function of the prophecies storyline and the plans of the lich.

Then I guess you haven't read Guildwiki?

The Bloodstones is the embodiment of all magic on Tyria. They were broken apart so no one being could control its power anymore. The Volcano spit them back out across Tyria.

I bet ANY money that the Bloodstones will be back in a future Chapter. You just don't LEAVE something that powerful sitting and expect no one to use them for personal gain.

They don't even have to expand the first chapter to do it either.

Omega X I believe you are absolutely correct. I find most people ignorant of Tyrian Lore and are full of false concepts. That was why I listed the information on King Doric on an above post.

Its also amazing to me how so many people who played Chapter one still do not understand the relationship between the Charr, Titans, and Murssat. (but that can be a different thread). So many questions left un awnsered in chapter one so may tie in's for furture chapters. I can't wait.

Well, I think the initial telling of the story didn't emphasize enough on different areas of the lore. That is probably why many don't link the pieces of the story together unless they were curious like I was. The thought is that the story that you were following in game was the only story.

That is another topic, but the bloodstones are too important not to revisit.

GAH.

Bloodstones are in their element. Stands to reason Destruction is in Charr lands (source of the titans). Denial would then be in the Desert, Preservation in Shiverpeaks, Aggression in Jungle. The Keystone is at the door.

As what has been said, Tyria is also the name of the whole world, so there is nothing beyond speculation possible.

It's a possibility Denial is in Elona.

Where does it say that the entire guild wars "planet" is Tyria? I read through both the lore books (factions and prophecies) and it seems quite clear that Tyria is just the Prophecies continent.

However, the "Gods Of Tyria" (Dwayna, Grenth, Melandru, Balthazar and Lyssa) are worshipped in cantha, and probably will be there in Elona.
Is it a continuity error (probably) or does it mean that Tyria, Elona and Cantha are all part of one huge land also named Tyria.

Which is just stupid....

Gaile has mentioned Tyria is the name of the first continent and the whole planet as well. This is probably because all the important events took place in Tyria so everything was called Tyria, and the addition of new continents on a world of a different name would knock serious holes in the lore.

It's possible the stone is buried there, it was put there long ago and ice/snow can shift

Alright, here's two more pics of it:

Where the two stones we can see in the game, both of them are circular in shape with spikes and stuff on top of it. Now this one at the Ice Caves mission doesn't look at all like the two bloodstones. It's just one big rock that's not even separated from the rest of the terrain, and the only thing that's making this one a circle is those thingies constructed to the edges.
