Ok, I have learned the farm, and I have been told to alternate between farming tripps, but I swear I have killed him now like 25 times and no drop?! the first 15 - 18 tripps I didn't know any better to alternate somewhere else before returning, but I have done it annother 5 - 7 times, and still no staff ... is there a specific way to lose the "farmer" flag? Do I have to do a quest or mission or something? Any advice would be greatly appriciated

Kewl, well I guess I will try some more, anyone know the specific frequency that Ghail's Staff drops in?

It's difficult to give a frequency on the drop as it is random and varies differently to each players. A guildie has killed Ghial more times than I have and has never had the staff dropped. Whereas, I have gotten Ghial's staff 8 times in a 3 week period.

Most of the time when I start playing GW, I log in as my warrior and go farm Ghial. If I fail to get the staff within 5 runs, then I go and do something else and don't go near Ghial again until the next day. The 8 times I have gotten the staff, I got it before or on the 3rd run. Once I get the staff, then I leave Ghial lone for a day or two to recover from the beating.

Another thing that I do on the run is get killed, sounds strange but it's what I do. Maybe it was coincidence, but the first 2 times I got the staff I had DP because I died on the way to him. I have never gotten a staff from him on a run where I didn't get killed. So dying has become a ritual on my Ghial runs.

Also, my guildie tend to farm the vermins quite often. Whereas I don't, maybe there is a relationship between the number of drops you get in the area? I dunno.

I've farmed Ghial probably 20-30 times now, no drop. Also I always kill Zinfaun on the way to Ghial, never got Zinfauns green either.

FWIW, I had to kill Arrasshh 20-25 times in a row before his shield dropped. As an Arrasshh run takes about 3 minutes that wasn't too bad. By contrast I got two Milthurans staff in three tries.

I think it's mainly luck of the draw, plus you might as well go do something else if you notice that other mobs don't drop anything when you kill them.

Ahh for me I've also gotten Ghial's green in 1-6 runs or so, when I was farming Rajazan it took me exactly 46 runs to get his sword then I lost it by accidently deleting a PvP char that had the sword on it so it's all about luck.

I don't know if it is true but the drops also depend if others are farming the same guy too. Most recent example for me is stonereaper. I must've killed him about 30 times ever since the factions came out and I got nothing. This past weekend i have gotten 2 stonereapers.

Yeah, he's a scrooge... he just won't give it up for me!

Did 5 runs last night and nothing! So out of frustration, I went and killed some Kurzicks at Fort Aspenwood... If he had given up his staff, lives would not have been lost in a pointless massacre, their blood are on his hands. Just give me that damn staff and the mindless killings will stop... at least for awhile.

I've always read people mentioning areas being overfarmed, so good drops decline for all... but I'm sure I've recently read a post that quoted Gaile saying that instances does not affect each other, so someone farming in an instance of one area, would not affect the drops of someone farming an other instance of the same area. I may have read it wrong, and I can't seem to find that post now.
