There is no "better" armor, all armor (1.5k or more) have the same stats (for their type).
there is only a difference in looks and price.
As for cooler looking armor, thats just personal preference.
edit: and you didn't need to include your profession, it was an easy guess if you actually didn't mention it

Best armor is based on personal preference. Some may like the 15k Kurzick necro, others (like me) may not.

As already said Max armor 15K is the same as max armor 1.5K, it just looks slightly better and is much more expensive.
