its just curious
before faction came out i farmed hydras, trolls, some blessed griffons, uw, fow and minos, and at least each 2nd run i got a gold item!
since faction is out, i farm my a** off, hour for hour, and after 5 runs i switch place, and not one golden drop for me!!!! since factions is out !!!
and imagine how long factions is already out...
i know in factions there are some nice ways to make money, but i just want to finish my monk fow (need about 250k to finish), i just want to farm that money and then start again with pvping.
i get perfect purple drops , even in a troll run, like req. 8 max longbow 13^50 oO, but not 1 single gold!!!!
well i know there is a little chance to get a gold drop wich is worth something! but a crappy gold is better than a purple 100 times >.>
am im the one poor unlucky guy or do u have the same experiences?

Overfarming has reduced drops all other chapter 1 and of course Factions as well.
In addition to this overfarming the same area over and over again will result in the Anti-farm code being active, which will also effect your drops.
Finally A.net has been nerfing a number of areas to stop gold farmers.
That pretty much covers the reasons for lack of gold drops.
Oh and finally having the favour doesn't effect drop rate, drops are also random, you are not cursed, you just unlucky.

overfarming. i farm daily to get skill points for my monk. however after say an hour at elona the drop there get awful sometimes no drops a run. i find it best to say spend half an hour at a place then switch. I didnt farm for two weeks then power lvled a friend at drok and got two black dye in two runs. next day i got a black dye at elona. spend short amounts of time at various farming areas to reduce chance of anti farm code. maybe do something in between farming areas. or if you can switch accounts.

Don't underestimate the power of bad luck. I haven't gotten a gold drop in a couple weeks of questing/exploring/(light) farming. Sometimes i'll visit a farming spot I haven't been to in a month and i'll get 4-5 golds as a 'welcome back', then nothing else the rest of the night. It's weird.
I got so frustrated I made a pre-sear character so I wouldn't have to worry about not seeing any gold drops. :P
