Scavanger hunt idea's and other Fun Guild game's?
Nexium
Hello
i Was thinking now i that ive joined a bit bigger guild i thought that an Scavanger hunt whould be fun, maybe you get like 12h-24h and work solo ore as a team of 2 and then you suppose too get item's all over Tyria/Cantha
any idea's on what item's you should pick up if you'r solo ore if you'r a Duo team. and how long time is ok for an scavange hunt i know that some ppl here have done it already and the first man/team who finish should he/she get any price if so what is ok?
any other idea's of fun Guild Games??(except pvp )

Our Guild does SH - either over a couple of hours (10 items, Tyria) or over a weekend (25 items, some cryptic clues)...prize is normally fixed so a team of 2 can do it quickly but get half the prize. Items are normally materials, un-id specific blue/purples (e.g purple sword, blue wand).
Other games we've done:
Second the Best - do scrimmage/mission using only the secondary skills of the character -anyone caught using primary skills has to remove an armour piece
Trophy Run - go from point A to point B killing things and collecting the drops. The person with the most specific item from that area wins.

Note to OP: the plural is NOT formed with an apostrophe.
The title should be "ideas" and "games".

I knew the apostrophe comment was coming...
Scavenger Hunt and Dodgeball (also excellent practice for strafing/kiting) are two of the most common guild games.
Here are a few fun ones that I've participated in:
1. WORST_ITEM_EVAH. Find a weapon or offhand with some of the worst mods you can find. I'm talking a +5 energy focus with a -5 energy mod. Damage reduction versus plants shadow shields. A triple class modded staff. It's a hoot what some people come up with.
2. Guild Hall tag. It's the simple "if you open a trade with me, you win" game...hopped up on steroids (i.e. speed buffs). Just make sure you have some trappers lay down some snares in certain areas to cause a bit more mayhem to ensue.
3. Marco Polo/Where's Waldo. In guild chat, start giving clues to other guildmates as to what town you are in. Gradually whittle it down for them, especially if you use a 20 questions format. There are so many nooks and crannies in many towns (especially mission towns) that you could really make it challenging for them.

Hmm.
This isn't really a game, but, if you go Northwest from Seitung Harbor, you can find a Yeti and a Tengu fighting, boxing anyone??? It takes a while for someone to truiph over the other, so we try to kill the one we hate before they kill our team member. Ill get a screenie soon.

My guild has had a scavenger hunt to find the UGLIEST guild cape you can imagine. Take a screenshot of it and post it on the forum... the ugliest one wins. It was fun.
I'm proud to say, I won that contest and got 10k off of it xD

Kill my monk 1 vs 1. That is a REALLY fun one. My guildies have problems with that one...
Catch the ranger.

Treasure Hunt. Get a few people to stand at certain locations. Everyone starts off with a certain clue, and each clue leads them to the next person, who gives them another clue. First person to reach the end wins.
And if you trust the people in your guild not to cheat, you can have races. As long as you trust them not to zone, you can race pretty much anywhere. Team races, solo races, short races across the Shiverpeaks, or marathons from Maguuma to Ascalon.
Scavenger hunts for Collector's items work great. One Alpine Seed, One Putrid Cyst, One Forgotten Seal, etc. etc.
Dance Contests, where people use combinations of different emotes to make a routine, have a few judges. Plenty of fun with those lol.
Oh, the possibilities.

Kook~NBK~
My guildies and I played a game in LA around Halloween where we hid a round town and played hide and seek with the whole town! Find an ~NBK~, get a prize! We gave out Halloween items to people who found us. We went through a LOT of witch's brew that night! LOL
Don't know how many times I had this conversation with people:
Person: {where are you?}
Me: {hiding}

Evidently the teachers of today are not teaching enough grammar and punctuation when more than 50% of the post on this site make EXACTLY the same mistake.
Communication is so very important in the professional world. It doesn't matter if you are a teacher, a businessman, an engineer, or anything else, you need to be able to communicate clearly. This is the reality of the modern workplace.
I suggested ONE correction to the OP, because that particular mistake is made so frequently on these boards and does make the post difficult to read, especially for non-native speakers who would not question the OP's use of the apostrophe.
Did I make fun of him? No. Did I use offensive language? No. I simply pointed out a mistake in a hope that more people than the OP would learn from it, since evidently the teachers aren't doing their job.
Before you log on to the internet next time remember that it is the information super-highway. Remember that we are entitled to our opinions just as much as you are entitled to yours. On the internet we are all teachers and we are all learners. Some people will try to be helpful by correcting your mistakes, others will just laugh at you. Being defensive when others point out that you have made a mistake serves no purpose. Isn't it easier to learn from that mistake and move on?
Honestly the attitude of the younger generation worries me. You don't want to learn this or that because it doesn't interest you. You don't want to have that teacher because you don't like them. You don't want to work with that person because they are so "gh-ay". You don't want to do homework because it takes too much time. You don't want to study, you don't want to work, but you want everything the world could possibly give you. Life doesn't work like that, you take the good and you take the bad, and you have to strive for what you want.
Yes this is a dicussion on GW and, in hindsight, I should have ALSO commented on the idea in my first post. However if someone makes a common language mistake, and keeps making it, I'm not about to sit back and say, zomfg he is going to be so offended if I offer a suggestion. No, I'm going to correct the mistake because in the long term learning this important point now is better than learning it after years of not being able to find employment because of a demonstrated inability to communicate clearly and correctly.
If you can't accept the comment in the good grace in which it was intended, then perhaps you should take your own advice and find another topic to read.
