Do Canthan chars need to be ascended to enter FoW/UW via ToA?

Simple question: Do Canthan chars need to be ascended to enter FoW/UW via ToA?
Couldn't find an answer via search or GuildWiki.


I do know that Tyrian chars have to be ascended, but not sure about "Faction-born" ones.
Wasn't too pleased with the crowd at Zin Ku Corridor. Not bashing newbs, but having only 1-2 ppl in every run, who are no first timers in FoW/UW, doesn't make it easier.

So I wonder if my new Monk (and first Canthan char) needs to complete the whole Ascension thing again to go there via ToA.

Yes you do. In factions you have to become Weh no Su.

Just to make sure I understood it right: I do NOT need to be Ascended in Prophecies (i.e. doing all the desert missions and killing my mirror) in order to enter FoW/UW via ToA, but only to be Closer To The Stars?

Closer to the Stars is the Canthan equivilant to Ascending.

That I know, but since the ToA is in Tyria (i.e. Prophecies Campaign) I wasn't sure if I need the Tyrian Ascension as well to enter via ToA.

Nah, wouldnt make sense If you can enter via Zin Ku you can also enter via Toa.
