I have opened over 50 high-end chests in FoW with my runner-ranger. I always get Shadow bows, staffs, focus items, sometimes shadow blades etc. BUT I have ever got any shields! There have been even some chaos axe drops, but never shields!
So my question is: Do the loots from the chests depend on which character you play? Like ranger gets more bows than other classes, warrior gets more weapons and shields...

Character your playing as has nothing to do with it.
Chest drops are completely random for all character and classes.
If shields aren't dropping most likely your just unlucky, you could try farming someplace else.
Oh and having the favour doesn't effect mob or chest drops.

Or it could be other people from other places in the world are farming the same areas and might be getting the shield. What I'm trying to say is not only you do the chests run and when I go to TOA I see a lot of people spamming for chest runs. So keep doing it you might get lucky and might get a shield. Happy Farming!
