Chatting During Cut scenes
gameshoes3003
Okay I'm petitioning that we should be able to chat during a cutscene. It's getting annoying that I'm missing things that people are telling me, especially during the LOOOOOOONG cutscenes. It's really bothering me because I don't like it!!!!
So yeah... I hope you guys know what I'm talking about so....
SAY YES!

If Anet does this, imagine all the "OMFG NOOB SKIP FFS" etc. messages people would send, watching cutscenes would be a complete taboo for everyone unless they play with henchies. I'm not for it.

For mission ending cutscenes, I 'like to see a 'skip' and 'leave' button, where the 'leave' button would make you leave the party and head to the next town.
If the chat box didn't appear untill you hit skip, there would be no harrasment of players, because they wouldn't see what you're saying anyways.

That is a great idea. I have hit cutscenes while i am in the middle of talking to my guild and then i cant keep talking to them cause i have to wait 10 minutes for a freaking cutscene to end. If they did do this i think the should maybe restrict it to guild chat, alliance chat, and whispers to stop all the "ZOMG N00bS Skip!!!" flaming.

I agree with you that not being able to talk can be annoying as hell, but seeing the pros and cons of that I have to say not talking sounds better. If you think you missed some messages, just disable team/local chat once the cutscene finishes and scroll up or increase the size of the chat window.

can you talk in a cinema? no!
so yea, you can't talk during cutscenes

It would be nice to have chat in a cutscene. Many times I have been talking to the guild and I go into a cutscene that someone must watch. Then they get all confused to why I'm not answering them until I get out of the scene an hour later.

A one hour cutscene?? Where is that??

If Anet doesn't want to give us local/team chat during cutscenes, I can see good reason for it, but I would really like to see the ability to still talk in guild/alliance/whisper chat. So many times someone has pmed me asking me if I wanna PvP or something while I'm in a mission, then all the sudden someone activates the ending cutscene and I can't reply in time. I'd really like the ability to tell my friend "ya sure. one sec I'm in a cine." Waiting 3-5 minutes to respond to a simple question...it's messed up.
Now on the same topic sorta, there have been times where I've actually been able to chat in guild chat during a cinematic. I don't know if it's during all cines or it was some glitch for just a little while, but I remember I typed random stuff using the Shift+3 shortcut and even though I couldn't see it when I was typing it, it ended up that it had actually gotten through and was in the chat log when the cine ended. Hmmz...

There are many times I want to talk during cutscenes but can't, and they don't all involve "skip plz."
Sometimes I'd like to comment about the cutscene itself:
"Hey guys. Rurik bought it back there, but before he went he named me heir. Sup?"
"Why couldn't Evennia have died instead? Saidra's the only character in this game with a decent voice actor."
"Breeechnaaaar Iiironhammmerrr!"
"Go minions! Kill them envoys dead!"
"Wait a minute... wasn't the Oracle an old guy with a big hat? What happened to his beard?"
Cutscenes would also be a good place to discuss the mission itself, to offer warnings and tips. After all, it's the only time everyone's paying attention.
I think having to put up with a little spam is worth that.

i would like the leave button after a mission is finish. I dont mind people watching cutscene if it's their first time playing the game but some time it's annoying when i'm in a hurry. Maybe like an option to replay cutscene? that way people can rewatch the scene if they miss something.

This is a horrible idea, sorry. I remember when I first played through. I wanted to watch all the cutscenes and I did no matter what other people said unless they had a damn good reason.
I don't think there should be added pressure to skip cutscenes for people new to the game. If its that big of a problem then you can either close the game or get up and get somthing done while the scene is playing.
The only thing we would see during cutscenes would be "OMGFGSKIPSKIP" "FCUINGNUBS" "U GYUZ SUCK" /ragequit

However, the "leave" button idea for the cinematics at the end of the missions is ok I guess.
BrotherGilburt
I'd almost want to sign this. But it woulkdn't be fair to people who wanted to watch it. All you would see over is people flaming the people not skiping. They could probably even narrow it down to find the people not skiping by who doesn try to flame the people not skiping. Not a good idea.
I absolutly Agree

Good idea indeed.

It would be fun to make fun of Rurik in the cut scenes... though the whole populous of super intelligent and outstandingly mature players spamming the poor new players who want to watch the cut scene with stirringly deep and well-thought insults (like Quid said) is something to consider... hmmm...

It could be restricted to Guild and Alliance chats.............. Also you don't know whose skipping and stuff and people still say OMFG SKIP YOU NOOBS!!! LKJDLKFJLDKS:JF:LKSDJFLJKDS
It won't matter if it's in the cutscene because they'll still say the crap after.

I would love to play the mission where Rurik dies with chat.
Does this make me a bad person to spam "LOLZ U NUB! WHY NO HEAL SIGNET!?"

No, Trunce, your not a bad person. I say alot of mean things (i.e. much worse than what you stated) about Rurik during that cut scene. Mwahaahah.

The ability to perform 'Mystery Science Theatre' during a cutscene would be phenomenal, but there would have to be stuff put into place to keep out the abusive spam. The most realistic thing I've seen so far would have to be the replay button. I think its been suggested somewhere else to be able to unlock cine's, and that would kinda tie into it. But its more fun to watch/mock with other people.
